Echoplanet - Volume 2: Academy Secrets

Chapter 16: The Black-Robed Man's True Face

The black shadow was shrouded in a wide black robe, making it impossible to see its face, only a suffocating sense of oppression could be felt. Ukko's team immediately adopted a battle stance, vigilantly staring at the newcomer.

"Who are you?" Ukko asked in a deep voice.

The black shadow let out a hoarse laugh, as if it were a demon's whisper from the depths of hell. "I'm here to send you to hell."

As soon as the words fell, the black shadow raised its hand, and a black magical energy instantly condensed, attacking Ukko's team.

Emilia reacted quickly and immediately released a Fire Wall spell, trying to block the black magical energy. However, the black magical energy easily penetrated the fire wall and continued to attack Ukko's team.

"Be careful! This dark magic is corrosive!" Lilith warned loudly, while releasing a Shadow Shield, blocking in front of everyone.

The black magical energy hit the Shadow Shield, making a "buzzing" sound, and the surface of the Shadow Shield was quickly corroded, becoming riddled with holes.

"What a powerful force!" Lilith's face was pale, obviously bearing tremendous pressure.

Seeing this, Reynard immediately released a Lightning Spear, throwing it towards the black shadow. The Lightning Spear carried a powerful lightning force, tearing through the air and making a piercing scream.

The black shadow was not flustered, and stretched out its palm, and a black magical barrier instantly condensed, blocking the Lightning Spear. The Lightning Spear hit the magical barrier, bursting out with dazzling electric light, but it could not penetrate the barrier at all.

Seeing this, Ukko knew that they could no longer passively take a beating. He took a deep breath, circulated the water elemental power in his body, clenched his fists, and rushed towards the black shadow.

"Water Flow Fist!" Ukko shouted loudly, his fists carrying powerful water elemental power, slamming towards the black shadow's chest.

The black shadow seemed a little surprised by Ukko's attack, and his figure swayed, dodging Ukko's fists. However, Ukko's fist wind carried a powerful water elemental force, causing the black shadow's black robe to flutter.

The black shadow seemed unwilling to entangle with Ukko any longer, and his figure flashed, instantly creating distance.

"It seems that your strength is not bad, no wonder you can come here," the black shadow said hoarsely. "However, your good luck ends here."

After the black shadow finished speaking, he suddenly raised his head, revealing a hideous face.

"It's you! Mentor Alan!" Ukko exclaimed.

The black shadow was actually the mentor of the Multi-System Fusion Research Class, Alan!

Alan had a crazy smile on his face, and his eyes were full of evil. "That's right, it's me. Unexpected, isn't it, that I am a member of the Dark Cult."

"Why? Mentor Alan, why are you doing this?" Emilia asked in disbelief.

"Why? Hahahaha!" Alan laughed crazily. "For power! To rule the world! Only by joining the Dark Cult can you gain true power!"

"You foolish guys, you actually to explore multi-system fusion, it's simply wishful thinking!" Alan mocked. "Only dark magic is the most powerful force!"

"Today, I will let you know what true despair is!" After Alan finished speaking, he once again released a powerful dark magic energy.

Ukko's team knew that Alan had completely fallen, and they had to stop him.

"Everyone, attack together, stop him!" Ukko shouted loudly.

Ukko's team once again adopted a battle stance, preparing to engage in a desperate fight with Alan.

However, just then, a figure suddenly appeared behind Alan.

It was an old man wearing a white magic robe, he held an ancient magic staff in his hand, and exuded a powerful magic energy.

"Alan, you have fallen," the old man said with a sigh. "Surrender yourself."

"Dean!" Alan's face changed drastically when he saw the old man. "You... How could you be here?"

"I have been watching you," the old man said. "Your every move cannot escape my eyes."

"Hmph, so what if you came?" Alan sneered. "Today, I will let you know who is the real strongman!"

After Alan finished speaking, he once again released a powerful dark magic energy, attacking the old man.

The old man shook his head, sighed, and then raised the magic staff in his hand, and a white magic barrier instantly condensed, blocking Alan's attack.

The white magic barrier exuded a powerful purification force, completely neutralizing the black magic energy.

"Alan, you have been possessed by the devil, obsessed and unrepentant," the old man said. "Today, I will clean up the house and bring you to justice!"

After the old man finished speaking, he waved his magic staff, and a white magic light instantly hit Alan.

Alan let out a scream, and his body flew out, crashing heavily to the ground.

The black robe fell off, revealing Alan's original face. His face was pale, the corners of his mouth were overflowing with blood, and his eyes were full of despair.

"Why... Why did I fail?" Alan muttered to himself.

The old man walked up to Alan, sighed, and said, "You went down the wrong path, Alan. Power is not everything, true power comes from the goodness and justice in your heart."

After the old man finished speaking, he waved his magic staff, and a white light enveloped Alan.

Alan's body began to slowly disappear, and finally turned into a wisp of dust, dissipating into the air.

Ukko's team looked at the place where Alan disappeared, their hearts filled with emotion.

They did not expect that the mentor they had always respected was actually a member of the Dark Cult, and ultimately met such an end.

"Thank you, Dean," Ukko said.

The old man turned around and looked at Ukko's team with a smile. "You don't have to thank me, you did a good job. You discovered the Dark Cult's conspiracy and protected the safety of the academy."

"You are all the pride of the Element Sanctuary," the old man said.

"What are your plans next?" the old man asked.

Ukko took a deep breath and said firmly, "We..."
