Xu Baili answered the call and put it on speaker. Li Xuan's voice echoed in the room over the phone. She sounded pitiful, her voice trembling.
"Baili, I heard you got the role of the female lead in the 'Emperor's Treasure' drama." Li Xuan said.
"Of course." Xu Baili responded softly. She remembered this scene very well. It is the one Li Xuan begged her to give the role to her. Xu Baili almost laughed at the girl's audacity.
'How foolish.' Siyu thought her lips curling into a smirk.
"BaoBao please help me. Please give me the role. I'm facing a crisis. My career is not doing that well. Please help me. I'm the villain I'm the drama. It doesn't fit my character." Li Xuan said softly.
"Who does it suit then?" Xi Baili asked. It was silent for a moment. Its like Li Xuan was kinda shocked because of the response.
"BaoBao please. W-we can exchange roles. You are perfect and can act any role perfectly. I'm terrible at being a villain. Please help this friend of yours." Li Xuan responded.
Xu Baili couldn't help but chuckle. If her memory served her right, Xu Baili would have given the role to Li Xuan without a second thought. Xu Baili had checked up on Li Xuan's career and she is doing just fine. She also sounded pitiful as she responded.
"Xuan, I would have but I already informed my parents about it. They are so happy. You know I wouldn't want to disappoint them. Besides they said I have to work for my career and earn my own money and fame without their help. I believe this role will help me also." Xu Baili responded sadly. Even some sniffing.

Li Xuan was at her apartment looking at her phone after talking with Xu Baili. It was still surprising to her that Xu Baili refused to give her the role. She looked at her mother who was sitting on the couch.

"Your friend is selfish. She could not even give you this role. She is already so rich. Why is she being so stingy? Xuan, you better meet her in person and persuade her." Wang Yuzhen said arrogantly and went to her room.
Li Xuan took a deep breath and checked her Weibo account nervously. Her eyes widened when she saw something.
NEWS: Director Cho's new drama series, 'Emperor's Treasure', starts shooting in a week. The cast has been finalized. Starring Chen Tai as the male lead and Xu Baili as the female lead.
"Chen Tai." Li Xuan whispered . Chen Tai is the famous and best actor. He has won several awards and Li Xuan always admired him. She was beaming while thinking about him but soon her smile fall.
"Chen Tai as the male lead and Xu Baili as the female lead. Oh No! I heard there are kissing scenes. I have to talk to Baili." Li Xuan said as she stood up.
She grabbed her things and left her apartment. She took her car and headed to the Xu family mansion.
During the whole ride she was thinking on how to convince Xu Baili to give her the role. Li Xuan arrived at the Xu family mansion. The guards recognized her and let her in, familiar with her frequent visits.
"Good afternoon, Aunt Mengmei." Li Xuan greeted respectfully. Xu Mengmei smiled.
"Xuan, you came to see BaoBao. She is in her room. You can go upstairs." She said sweetly as Xuan nodded and headed to Xu Baili's room.
Xu Mengmei's smile vanished as she looked at Xuan's back. The head maid noticed her expression and asked curiously.
"Madam, is everything alright?" Head maid Weiyu asked.
"I can't put my finger on it, But there is something about her that doesn't sit right with me. This girl's presence makes me uncomfortable. I don't trust her around BaoBao not even one bit. BaoBao is too trusting of her. She sacrificed so much for Li Xuan" Mengmei said still looking at the stairs.
"Madam what can we do. BaoBao is just too kind." Head maid Weiyu responded. Mengmei just nodded.
Meanwhile in Xu Baili's room, she was admiring her reflection in the mirror.
'So beautiful ' she thought, a pleased smile spreading across her face.
'Oh my, A dimple? How adorable!' Xu Baili thought with a blush.
"Zhou Mo is silly. He couldn't notice this beauty. This whole package in front of him. When I meet him the first thing I will do is ask him to get an eye surgery." Xu Baili said.
There was knock at her door. She came out of her daze. "It's open." She said softly. The door opened, revealing Li Xuan with her short black hair, brown eyes and pink lips.
Xu Baili noticed Li Xuan's height towering over her own, 5'4 frame. Li Xuan seemed to stand at around 5'7
"BaoBao." Li Xuan said, embracing Baili while tears streamed down her face. Xu Baili eyes rolled discreetly.
"Xuan why are you crying?" She asked softly. Xuan looked at Baili with red eyes. Anyone would have felt sorry for her.
'How did she land the female lead role?' Xu Baili thought. She felt like Li Xuan was too fake.
"BaoBao please give me the role. I'm begging you." Xuan said softly.
"Why?" Baili asked.
"BaoBao, please help me. My career is not going well right now. Mother is giving me lots of pressure to get the role. Chen Tai is the male lead. BaoBao, I have always fancied him hoping one day we could get close." Xuan said sadly.
Baili almost laughed. She knew Li Xuan's mother was notorious for her greed. She had also given Xuan money just to give to her mother long back when Li Xuan started her acting career. She didn't care about her love for Chen Tai. If it were the old Xu Baili then she would have cared but this new Baili doesn't give a damn.
"I'm sorry Xuan. I'm also on a tight spot. I can't give this role to you." Baili responded. Xuan clenched her fists.
"It's okay. I understand. I'm sorry." Xuan said. Of course Baili noticed all the small gestures Xuan did..
'FAKE!' Baili thought bitterly.
