Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Deal?

The entire room was silent as they all looked at Lucian, who seemed to be in the middle of an army of world government agents. Honestly, he could even say that he was honored in a way that they had thought they needed this many people and powerful heavy hitters just to catch him.

"I know by now you've probably cleared out the so-called Holy City, moved the Celestial Dragons somewhere else, even," Lucian said, his voice echoing with a haunting, casual levity in the oppressive silence of the Room.

His gaze swept across the room, lingering on each figure, the four remaining Elders, the simmering rage of Admiral Akainu, Aokiji, Kizaru, the other vice admiral and fleet admiral, the elite CP0 agents whose masks couldn't hide their glare at him, and, to his surprise, he could even see the members of the God Knights standing at the periphery close to the elders.

'They really want my head,' Lucian thought with a flick of genuine amusement, though his outward expression remained deceptively placid, a mirror of calm with only a small polite smile on his face.

Truly, this was a scary position to be in. Like, there was not a single person in this world that he knew who would not be nervous if they were in his position. Like dude this line up was crazy, yet lucian didn't feel anything at all....okay that was a massive lie, he was nervous but only a little, i mean he was here by his contract that meant he was safe until the process of deal was over. that meant until either he says they would be no deal or the people who summoned him say no deal, and then that itself gave him the option of going back to were he was called from or deciding to stay himself.

He gave the room another glance. Well, he knew what his choice was the moment it was made clear that a deal would not be taking place.

He shifted his focus back to the Elders, pointedly ignoring the heat radiating from Akainu, which was beginning to scorch the floor tiles. "But so what? Even if no one is caught in the next blast, how do you think the world would react to what is essentially the home symbol of the World Government being wiped out completely?"

He smirked, enjoying the visceral way their faces twisted in fury, a mask of indignation failing to hide the real fear beneath it, because at the end, they didn't know how powerful he really was, and the attack from days ago showed that at least he held power to shake the world. Even if he really didn't himself and it was just his weapon, one that he couldn't even use in full power, but they didn't need to know that.

"So, I'll ask again. Will you agree to the deal, or will you refuse so I can go back to finishing what's left of that city? My schedule is remarkably open today, so I can wait a bit for your answer. But I do hope you make the right choice for all your sakes."

Lucian's voice dropped into a dark tone. He could see the way some marines and soldiers at the back seemed to shift and squirm, and had had to suppress the smirk he felt threatening to grow on his face.

He wanted them to pick the devil fruits, he really wanted them.

He wanted those Devil Fruits, not just for the thrill of having them, but for the leverage they would be able to provide in the DxD world. Do you know the number of beings in his world that would kill for more power?

To be able to get power from a single bit of a fruit, well, let's just say that there were a lot of beings who would offer quite a bit for even one, or well, kill for one.

So he really wanted them to accept this deal and give him his devil fruits, but....if they don't, well, he was inherently petty.

These dudes had gone and posted his face on millions of wanted posters, and now he couldn't move as freely as he could before, so Lucian was going to pay them back for that, and it's either the devil fruits or the destruction of their precious holy city.

A city for just inconvenience? Yes, he was that petty. As he had learned growing up, An eye for an arm, An arm for a Life, or in this case, a life for a city.

Saturn just stared at him before the elder raised his staff and slammed it down. The thud was the signal. The moment it hit the floor, the CP0 and God Knights rushed forward. Even the Marines joined the fray, their collective Haki flaring to life. Everyone trying to hit him with everything they had.

"I see. Guess that's your answer," Lucian muttered, his eyes going completely devoid of warmth, but his lips curled up in a vicious smile. As the blades, bullets, and Haki-infused fists reached for him, they simply vanished or were sent flying back, the Devil Fruit powers rendered ineffective, vanishing before reaching him.

He nodded, as if understanding something, and just like that, he vanished into thin air, leaving his enemies swinging at empty space.

With his disappearance, the room froze. Everyone stopped, breathless, as if the world had paused. Tsuru seemed to be the first one to move as she scrambled for her Den Den Mushi, but the line was dead.

She tried again, and again, to no avail. They tried using the flyer to summon him, but he didn't appear, seemed like he was ignoring the call. Everyone was scrambling to figure out what to do. The elders themselves seem to have started giving orders on what to do next.

Then, the sky outside lit up.

They were miles from the Red Line, yet everyone saw it. A light shone brighter than anything they had ever witnessed, a beam of pure annihilation, red, shone towards the sky that seemed to dwarf the strike from days prior. Everyone, from the Marines to the Elders, felt the cold grip of horror.

Their ambush had backfired, and now they were about to watch as the brat destroyed the holy city, and there was nothing they could do to stop it. Even if Kizaru rushed there now as the fastest of them all, Sengoku didn't think he'd make it in time to stop the brat, yet even then, he still ordered the marine to go, and he did, vanishing in a glint of light to hopefully reach Lucian and stop him if he could.

Lucian, meanwhile, had reappeared in the air above the red line from where he had been summoned from, when he had just been about to act.

He would admit he was annoyed that they didn't accept the deal, but well, he was sure his mood would lessen when he wiped out this place.

He could hear his den den mushi ringing, but he paid it no mind as he brought out EA, this time pouring out more power than the day before. He suddenly felt the pull of his flyer, he didn't even need to think hard to know who was trying to reach him.

Did they think that he'd what? Suddenly, now answer the call and then accept his deal. No. He gave them a chance, and even though he wanted the fruits, he had to hold a level of standard so that people didn't think they could just walk over him and think they could call him back anytime, just because.

EA was charging up, and he was getting ready to unleash it when he jerked forward. The pull... the pull this time was different. Lucian had never sensed greed like this before. never felt desire like this before. He knew it then, and there it was, not the Marines that were trying again.

The pull felt weird, and Lucian felt a hunch. Suddenly, he vanished, appearing in a quiet garden like room. It had an odd feeling to it. just being there had this peaceful feeling, it would have been more peaceful like if he was alone.....

But he wasn't alone.

A few paces away stood a black silhouette, staring at him with its ring like eyes. He knew the person, of course, any fan of One Piece would recognize the person, the mastermind of the world, Saint Imu.

This world's final boss.

Lucian's heart raced with a bit of excitement, but his face remained sly. "Well, hello there... Imu."

The figure tensed, a ripple of shadow distorting the air around it as his haki affected the area around his figure. Lucian was deeply impressed. He wasn't joking when he said all he saw was a silhouette, because even when close to him face to face, that's actually what he saw.

'What the hell,' he thought.

Damn, final Boss.

Back with the Marines, they were all frantic.

"See? I told you he couldn't do it!" Akainu barked, his fury uncontrollable. "It was all a bluff! We need to hunt that brat down now!" That was what he was saying when the red light vanished from the sky and no destruction followed.

"Silence, Sakazuki!" Sengoku yelled, not caring about the Elders' presence. Sengoku was not buying it. This brat, this boy had destroyed half of Mary Geoise when they had not expected it, so excuse him if he didn't believe that the boy would not follow through. No, something was happening, and he was not going to wait until it happened.

He started issuing orders to his soldiers, they can't just sit on their asses and wait until it happens.

Figarland Garling stared at his hand, clenching and unclenching his fist. He was certain they had struck the boy, yet none of their attack had connected. Whatever ability shielded him from both Haki and Devil Fruits was a power Figarland felt belonged in the hands of the gods, not a peasant like that.

Suddenly, Lucian materialized back in the center of the room. Tsuru yelped, having not expected him, as while she had still been trying the flyer, she had already given up to be honest.

He held up a hand, silencing her before she could talk.

"Don't bother. The deal has been agreed upon," Lucian said casually. "I'm just here to inform you that you should stop wasting your time trying to reach out to me." 'and to gloat,' he thought to himself.

"Agreed upon? By whom?" Saint Mercury demanded.

Lucian turned to them, his smile sharp. "Why, by Imu, of course."

The Elders froze. Imu? Suddenly, the voice of great imu rang out in their heads. 'Give it to him. 70 fruits.'

Saint Jupiter started to protest, but the weight of Imu's will silenced him. To the Marines, they simply saw the Elders go silent after Lucian mentioned a name.

Saturn gripped his staff and ordered the subordinates to bring the 70 fruits. The Marines were baffled, but none dared question the command. Not even Sengoku, the fleet admiral, when he noticed the way the elders were acting.

Lucian waited, feeling giddy, he had honestly thought he'd lost the deal for the fruits, but he guessed he still had some luck on his side. It wasn't long before soldiers came back with four large boxes with dozens of fruits in them. Suddenly, he felt the deal click into place, meaning that everything was complete.

He had secured his 60, plus an extra 10, a mix of Mystical and Ancient Zoans. What. Did you think he wouldn't add more for the emotional damages they had caused him.

Still, the deal with Imu had changed a little. He was even generous enough to let them keep their image by not apologizing to him, provided they retracted his bounty.

"Thanks for the patronage," Lucian said, giving a mocking bow before vanishing, not waiting even a second.

Lucian was not going back to where he was, no he was going back home.

Back to his home in the DxD world.

Lucian collapsed onto his couch, vibrating with excitement.

He had 81 Devil Fruits. 81. Can you believe it. He burst out laughing as he rolled around.

He laughed until his lungs burned. It took him a while to calm down before he just sat there thinking about what he should do next. Eventually, he decided he was done with the One Piece world for a while. He had robbed that world blind, his power had increased a fair bit, and the deal he made with imu would not really matter as long as he was not there.

Besides, he needed to build a life here in DxD, regardless of whether he could jump worlds. This was still his home world, and he wanted a nice life here too, wasn't that the reason he even went to another world at the beginning. Now with everything he's got, he could start making foundations for himself here in his world, but still, he was missing something. It would not be easy operating here while still weak like this, so he needed a way to mask himself, and He had found a solution.

Funny thing, he had watch hundread of shows while in his old life, yet here and now when he had been thinking of something to help him out, it handt really come easy to remember world that could help, at the end he had come out with four world that had things that could help him, still he decided to go for the one that he though would work best and cost less. a world of corruption, killers, and specialized artifact that could be of use.

"1,000 years for access," he muttered. Compared to the other two worlds he's been to so far, it was cheap.

"Akame ga Kill, here we go."
