Lin Xuan slowly withdrew his Soul Slayer Rod. He sneered as he watched Hei Xianyun's eyes gradually lose focus. "Your attacks are formidable. It's a shame they can't devour Soul Attacks. In fact, my Soul Attack is stronger than your combined power…"
Lin Xuan's greatest strength had never been his Physique, but his Soul Attacks. A sufficiently powerful Soul Attack could even contend with the Core Formation Stage. That was how he had been able to so easily pierce the black cloud and deliver his strongest strike!
This was all thanks to channeling the Martial God, which amplified his power to an overwhelming, crushing level.
His self-created Martial Art, the Soul-Devouring Break, had directly detonated Hei Xianyun's soul. He wasn't dead, but his soul was so severely traumatized that recovery would be impossible without a Spirit Medicine like Resurrection Grass.
