"When did you get back?"
Pei Ze glanced at the two of them and asked with a smile.
"Three days ago."
Gu Lin sat down, making herself at home. She picked up the tea served by the Water Sprites, took a sip, and let out a long breath.
"We almost didn't make it back."
Pei Ze was taken aback. "What happened?" he asked in surprise.
With a Rule Wizard like Annie around, no demon should have been able to threaten them unless they ran into a Demon Lord.
Gu Lin sighed and said, "We were ambushed. Pan Mo and Zugmoi were the ones who attacked us."
'Zugmoi?!'
Pei Ze's expression immediately turned grim. "You mean Lady Fungi?"
"That's right." It was Annie who spoke, the Vampire Wizard narrowing her eyes. "Pan Mo has been promoted to a Rule Wizard. It happened just eight days ago. The two of them joined forces and launched a surprise attack on my laboratory. I was no match for them, and it took a great deal of effort just to get away with Gu Lin."
