The view before him opened up. In the deepest part of the cave, there was a delightfully clear pond, only about ten feet across. What struck Bai Yuan as magical was that the water hadn't frozen.
Although the cave blocked the blizzard outside, the temperature was still frigid.

There was only one explanation: the pond wasn't filled with water, but with some other substance that had a lower freezing point.
