Qin Ling had been in the tent for five days. In all that time, he had barely stepped outside, not even to use the restroom.
He was afraid Tang Mo would suddenly wake up, open her eyes, and find no one there—or that the first person she saw wouldn't be him.
Even though everyone said the chances of Momo waking up again were slim.
The prolonged lack of rest and food had left Qin Ling's mind hazy. He sat by Tang Mo's side, holding her hand with one of his, while the other propped up his head.
In his daze, Qin Ling thought he saw Momo open her eyes.
It wasn't the first time he had imagined this happening. He couldn't help but smile, then closed his eyes again.
'If only I could dream right now. A dream about her would be perfect.'
'Dream of her opening her eyes, of her holding my hand.'
As his thoughts drifted, Qin Ling felt himself fall asleep. In his dream, a small hand was truly gripping his own, warm and vibrant and full of Life Force.
