Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Final Hours

The power dynamic had completely inverted. Linghe, the man who was used to being the center of the world, felt small in the shadow of her genius. He looked at her—this half-Filipino, half-Japanese prodigy—and felt a terrifying surge of desire. He didn't want to leave. He wanted to see how deep this rabbit hole went.

"And now?" Linghe asked, his hands moving to her waist, his grip tighter now, almost desperate. "The 36 hours are almost up. What happens when the 'experiment' ends?"

Nyx smiled, and for the first time, it wasn't a calculation. It was the smile of a winner.

"Now," she whispered, "we see if the actor can handle a role that lasts a lifetime. I'm going back to my lab in twelve hours, Linghe. The question isn't what happens to the experiment. The question is... are you going to follow me?"

She stepped back, leaving him standing on the edge of the water, breathless and undone. She had teased him, manipulated him, and dismantled his ego—and in doing so, she had made herself the only thing he could see.

"Think about it," she said, walking back toward the villa's glass doors. "You have until sunrise to decide if you want to be the King of your own script... or a piece on my board."
