Chapter 6 - A vision we couldn't predict

Lyra woke up early, her mind still racing from last night's encounter with Loki.

She had barely slept, weighing the risks and benefits of trusting the Norse god.

As she dressed, Nyx arrived with breakfast – fresh fruit, bread and a small vial of glowing liquid.

"Drink this, Lyra, hades insists, he said it will protect you from Zeus' magic within the Underworld." Nyx told her.

Lyra took the vial, drinking the liquid quickly.

It tasted bitter but she felt a strange energy coursing through her veins.

"Hades was still worried about me, even though I have barely seen his face since the last time we talked." she whispered under her breath.

Just then, Hades appeared in her doorway, his expression grim as usual.

" Lyra, we need to talk." He said. " about last time and us —."

Lyra braced herself for another argument but Hades' tone was softer than expected.

" I have been unfair to you, Lyra. My stress and fear drove me to push you away." He continued.

He stepped closer, his dark eyes filled with emotion.

" But you are all I have left now, my only friend, my —." He paused, choosing words carefully. " You are the only mortal who has seen my true heart."

Lyra's own heart skipped a beat, Hades almost confessed his feelings beyond friendship to her.

But before she could respond, he continued.

" I want us to work together against Zeus, will you help me, Lyra." He asked.

Lyra nodded slowly, still thinking about Loki's offer.

" Yes, Hades, I will help you."

As Lyra agreed to help Hades, her mind whispered warnings:

What about Loki's offer? Should I tell Hades about the Norse god's plan? Would Hades even consider an alliance with Loki?

She decided to wait to see if Hades had any plans worth pursuing first.

Hades smiled slightly, relieved by Lyra's agreement.

" Thank you, together we will find a way." He paused,

" My library has a hidden section of ancient spells and forbidden magic. Will you help me search through it?" He asked.

Lyra nodded again, thinking this could be useful knowledge, whether she used it with Hades or Loki.

As they headed to the library, Lyra felt Loki's parchment in her pocket , a constant reminder of her secret.

Asgard Realm

Loki sat on his throne, a sly smile spreading across his face.

Ravenna stood before him, reporting Lyra's reaction to his offer.

"She will meet with you again, Master Loki, the mortal girl is desperate to save Hades, Lord of the Underworld."

Loki chuckled.

"Perfect, She will take the bait and bring the book to us, what a stupid mortal, if we have the book then we can destroy Olympus and sit on the throne."

Hades and Lyra searched through ancient tomes in the Underworld Library, when suddenly the library doors burst open.

Nyx rushed in, excitedly whispering to Hades.

" A guest has arrived, my lord, one who claims friendship and offers aid."

Hades looked up, curious.

"Show them In, Nyx."

Nyx bowed and left, returning with a tall, brooding figure– Kaelin Darkshadow, a half-mortal and half-god.

" Kaelin, old friend." Hades said, embracing him warmly.

" This is Lyra, my—" He said while taking a pause looking for a word to describe her. "guest, she is my guest." He finally said.

Lyra's eyes met Kaelin's , an undeniable spark flashed between them.

She felt drawn to this stranger, as if their souls recognized each other.

Kaelin's gaze lingered on Lyra's face, his expression softening slightly.

Then he turned back to hades.

" I have come to help you defeat Zeus." Kealin said.

" My abilities might tip the scales in our favor."

Hades grinned.

" With you by my side, Kaelin, victory is possible."

Kealin eyes fixed on lyra.

" She is the one, The mortal girl from my vision but why does her face look more familiar than that? Could she be Elyse." He whispered under his breath.

" What did you say?" Hades asked, confused.

" Nothing, really, I just find this your guest, quite attractive." He told Hades.

Lyra's cheeks flushed, but Kaelin eyes remained locked on hers.

Hades raised an eyebrow skeptically.

" She is mine." He said , his tone was higher than usual.

" yours?" Kealin asked.

" I mean, she is my guest, like mine." He said.

Lyra felt trapped between the two of them.

"Lyra, Kaelin's mother was mortal, like you and his father, however, was Nike, one of Athena's allies." Hades said.

Lyra's eyes widened.

" Nike, isn't he one of the gods swallowed by Pandora's Box." She asked.

Kaelin nodded grimly.

"Yes, my father's fate binds me to this war, I will help you defeat Zeus, Hades, for my father's sake, and for Olympus."

Lyra felt a pang of sadness for Kaelin, losing a parent to Zeus' madness.

She also realized something else, Kaelin's connection to the war might make him a target for Loki.

Lyra decided to keep Loki's plan a secret for now.

She would observe Kaelin's role in their battle and decide later whether to involve Loki or not.

Hades clapped his hands together.

" Excellent, With Kaelin's help, we can strategize a plan." Hades said.

He gestured to a large table.

Nyx had already spread out maps of Olympus and the Underworld.

Lyra joined them, feeling a sense of purpose she had lacked since Michael's death but her gaze kept drifting from Kealin to Hades.

Kaelin and Hades' eyes never left her too, she felt suffocated and excused herself from the planning session, insisting she needs fresh breeze.

The garden is her favorite escape plan, it was peaceful and beautiful in the daylight.

She strolled along black stone paths, surrounded by glowing plants and soft whispering spirits but her solitude was short-lived.

Kaelin appeared beside her, his footsteps silent on the gravel.

" You left abruptly, Is something wrong?" He asked.

Lyra turned to face him, her heart skipping a beat at his proximity.

" I just needed some air, I felt uncomfortable." She said,

Kaelin looked down slightly, his voice low and sincere.

" Was it me, I didn't mean to, You just remind me of someone."

Lyra's curiosity was piqued.

" Who do I remind you of, Kaelin." She asked.

Kaelin's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze intense.

" My first love, Elyse, we were young and our love was strong but she was mortal, and I couldn't save her."

Lyra's heart ached for Kaelin's loss.

" I'm so sorry." lyra said.

Kaelin stepped closer, his voice barely above whisper.

" You remind me of her, her smile, her eyes and a seer's vision of a mortal girl who had reawakened my heart." He said.

Lyra's cheeks flushed softly.

" Reawaken your heart, as how." She asked.

Kaelin's face inches from hers, his breath whispering against her skin.

" By falling for you, Lyra."

His lips gently brushed hers. A soft, tender kiss that sparked electricity.

Lyra's eyes closed, her heart racing wildly.

As Kaelin's hand touched Lyra's face, a strange sensation washed over her like falling through time and space.

A Vision Appeared:

" Lyra saw herself standing in a lush meadow but not as herself, as Elyse, Kaelin's first love with the same sparkling eyes and bright smile.

Kaelin stood beside her, holding her hand, both of them wearing ancient Greek clothing.

They laughed together, happy, lyra was Elyse.

Elyse turned to Kaelin, whispering "I love you" – just as he did in this life.

The vision faded slowly, leaving Lyra breathless – still kissing Kaelin in the present.

Her eyes opened instantly, the vision faded , leaving lyra breathless, still kissing kealin.

" I am elyse or I was elyse, this was my second life and kealin was my first love." She thought to herself.

Suddenly, a loud horn blast shattered the moment – followed by Hades' thunderous voice:

INTRUDERS HAVE BREACHED OUR GATES.
