Chapter 9 - The Rainbow Promise

The morning of Holi arrived with bright sunshine and cheerful music in the town of Madhupur. Children ran through the streets with colors in their hands, laughing and shouting "Happy Holi!"

Among them was a quiet boy named Dev. He loved watching the colorful celebrations, but he never played Holi. A year ago, Dev had lost his best friend in an accident, and since then festivals no longer felt the same to him.

While everyone was enjoying the festival, Dev sat alone near the park, watching the colors fly in the air.

Just then a small girl named Tara came running toward him. Her face was already covered with red, green, and yellow colors. She stopped in front of Dev and asked, "Why are you sitting alone on Holi?"

Dev replied softly, "I don't feel like playing."

Tara thought for a moment. Then she gently took a pinch of pink gulal and placed it on Dev's hand.

"Sometimes colors help people smile again," she said kindly.

Dev looked at the bright powder in his palm. Slowly, he smiled a little and touched the color to Tara's cheek.

"Happy Holi," he said.

Soon Tara's friends joined them, and before Dev realized it, he was laughing and playing with everyone. Colors filled the air and music echoed through the streets.

For the first time in a long while, Dev felt light and happy again.

In the evening, while walking home, Dev looked at the colorful sky and realized something important.

Holi was not just about colors in the air—it was about healing hearts, creating new memories, and spreading happiness.
