Chapter 2 - ch 2: Setting off for a wildling scavenge.

...

Arthur nodded, he kinda had a feeling they weren't real, just as the two started climbing up the hill, Arthur saw Thors face, it looked ferocious, he was staring intently at Hela with hostility.

"Easy.., she's with me", Thors completely ignored him, he pulled out his short sword and pulled Arthur behind him.

Arthur had a feeling in his heart, even though Thors is strong and could beat Arthur Dane easily, he knew he wouldn't match this Goddess, so he tried to pull him back from a senseless beating.

Thors once beat a small army of 50 alone, each unpredictable and strong in their own right, he also knew that Arthur Dane struggles against just four opponents, which proves the difference in skill, if the two were pitted against eachother, Dane wouldn't even know how he lost his arm or leg, before he could even try and block an attack.

Arthur knew this guy was a sentimental type as well, just as he was pulled behind him, he was picked up like luggage.

He turned his head and saw Thorkell, "come on boy, you're coming back with me", his voice was deep, he too had a ferocious face.

"I'm not a kid anymore damnit! And like I said already, she's with me!", Thorkell paused midstep and he started laughing, "wahahaha!, are you saying you've already picked up a wife, while you've been missing for the passed week..".

"Poor brother here, thought you'd have died, he wouldn't come back until he had found you", Arthur slumped in the air and he looked at Thors.

"Thors, I'm fine, just come back home, I'm starving, put the sword away", Thorkell turned around and waited for Thors, he too knew Thors was rather protective of the boy in his hand.

Thors slowly nodded, "mm, as you wish", Thorkell didn't drop Arthur, he just started laughing again while walking away, Thors turned to face Hela, his tone serious.

"Don't even think about harming him, I've sworn I'd protect him with my life, if he dies, I don't know what I'll do with myself".

Hela just showed a smile, though it looked like she was mocking him.

Thors turned and followed behind Thorkell and Arthur, when the four came back to their tribe, Arthur nodded, "nothing beats coming back to Bearsthorpe".

Thorkell slapped him on the back of his head, "you're not a bear yet boy, you need to come on a ship and set sail to fight those wildling brat's, they're good for training".

Arthur nodded, he didn't care if he was a bear or not, as long as he can spread some branches, that'll be fine.

Thors finally came over checking if Arthur was injured or not, "I said I'm fine didn't I..", Thors held his face tightly between his hands, "have you been training, you're muscles have grown, this shouldn't be possible for a week's worth, have you been taking too much berserker mushrooms".

Arthur slapped his hands off of his face, he shook his head and replied, "go back home Thors, you're family must be worried about you".

"I'll go back tonight, Thorkell, go hunt us a boar or a wolf, we'll eat till our bellies can no longer hold out".

"Hahahaha!, and mead!, that's the only thing I can beat you at!, you're not going anywhere!, not this time!, wahahahaha!".

Watching him walking away, Thors and Arthur just shook their heads.

"He's quite the lively one, and tall too, he's about the same height as my Uncle Thor", Thors turned his head with a snap, "Thor?".

He turned to face Arthur, his face was complicated, [don't tell me, has he come into contact with our God's, just like two generations ago, his family is truly marvelous, it puts all the other tribes to shame.]

Later that night, everyone close to Arthur's faction had joined, in having a contest of strength and tolerance of the mead, since Arthur was now of age, he too joined in.

He even arm wrestled the Titan of his faction, "wah!", Arthur didn't stand a chance, he was flung towards a wall and everyone was laughing maniacally at it.

When Arthur woke up the next morning, he saw Fenrir sitting by his side, "you're here, you can go now, I'm awake".

Fenrir ignored him, as if his orders were nothing but empty air, Arthur did the same after seeing the wolf ignore him.

He stretched after putting on his clothes, then out of nowhere, his sword flung towards as if he was the magnet and the sword the metal, if he didn't catch it in time, he would have had a bloody nose.

He could feel that his sword was slightly irritated by his sudden neglect, "alright alright, I won't leave your side again, are you satisfied now".

He felt a little strange talking to his sword, but then he smiled, "so.., if I throw you at my enemies, will come back to me on your own".

Feeling the heat coming off the sword, he apologized quickly, "my bad, my bad, I wont do it, don't worry, I'm not gonna throw you away".

"You're actually speaking to your weapon, you know my uncle does that too, he even drink's with it and sleep's with it, it had gotten to the point of Lady Sif, his wife to get herself involved just to stop it, she felt like she was being cheated on by the damn thing".

Arthur turned and saw Hela leaning against a wall with her arms crossed, Arthur put on his leather jacket woven from a brown sheep, his hair combed back and short.

He looked at her secretly then said, "my mother once said I was a born king, she would always repeat it, when we would have dinner..", as soon as Arthur said this, his sword was trembling, it's runes were glowing in a bright blue light.

"Oh, you seem to like the idea of me being a king", Hela pinched her brows together, "can you stop talking to the sword in my presence, it's irritating".

Arthur completely ignored her, he felt as if time was slowing down, only ever so slightly, his body felt full of power.

Hela also started to notice it, due to the ground trembling slightly, [so fast, has he already awakened uncle Balduh's time power.]

She already knew who his grandfather was, from last night's madness, so she naturally felt more kinship with the boy.

She knew her uncle Balduh well, even though he is known as the kindest of God's, he's also the most sought after, to the point that even her father Loki is jealous of him.

"Mm", she watched as Arthur slowly started falling to the ground and she moved swiftly to catch him, "seems you can't handle it yet".

She put him back in bed, "Fenrir, stay by his side, make sure no one harm's him, I'm going back to get something important, I won't be long".

Fenrir stayed sat by the bedside, nodding as if he understood her words perfectly.

After she left, Thors came to check on Arthur, who was sweating profusely in his short sleep coma.

He was about to check his full condition, until Fenrir growled at him, he understood so he backed off without a word.

Arthur was only out for a few hours, but the moment he woke up, he felt as if he was twice as strong as before, twice as strong from yesterday.

He slowly got up, his feet unsteady, "have I grown taller, my pants have shrunk".

"No, you have most definitely grown taller, your abilities are only just awakening, so it's only natural", he saw Hela seated by his bedside reading a book, as if this room was her own.

"I guess, I'm gonna need a new set of clothing again", he really liked wearing his leather jacket, it was too comfortable for him to simply throw it away, so he left and asked Thors for a new set of clothes.

A few days past, and he got his new set of clothes, when he put them on, he was satisfied, "mm, Ragnar, why are you here?".

Ragnar barged into his long house as if he owned the place, and when he saw how tall Arthur had gotten, he stood frozen in his tracks.

His bright blue eyes sparkled with amazement, "heh, my rival has grown taller, we are to set out and raid a small settlement against the wildlings, whoever gets the most gold will be commander in the future..".

Arthur showed a similar smile, he knew this guy was ambitious, but he had a soft heart for kid's, he wouldn't dare to harm them, that was why he likes Arthur, though he wouldn't say it due to his own pride.

Seeing that Arthur nodded at him, he couldn't help but continue his speech, "I can't wait to be the leader and have you as my underling, it will make my father proud, knowing I'm the leader of the ex chief's son".

Arthur put his sword in his belt, smiled at Ragnar then replied heartily, "and if I get the most gold, will that make you my underling".

The two began to stare at eachother with competitive spirit, "I'll see you at the docks..", "no need, I'm already ready, I'll come along with you".

Ragnar nodded and led the way, Arthur couldn't help but speak to him after they made it halfway there, "tell me, if you are leader, will you stop the brutality of your men, or will you let it continue".

Ragnar frowned at this, "stopping my men from pillaging..", "I'm talking about killing innocence, if I was leader, I'd make sure that wouldn't happen".

Ragnar nodded to himself, [if you can fight an entire unit of men, then I'll believe you can achieve it, but I believe that to be impossible, only Thorkell and Thors are such monsters to be able to achieve such feats.]

The two finally made it to the deck and saw Thors waiting for them, "you've both arrived in time, put your shields on the longship, we're setting sail".
