Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Breaking Point

Every person has a limit. Raju was no different.

One afternoon, after returning from yet another unsuccessful interview, he sat alone near the small pond behind his house. The sky was cloudy, and the water was still. He held his file of certificates tightly in his hands.

The interviewer had barely looked at him.

"You have only Madhyamik? We need higher qualification," the man had said without emotion.

Raju walked home silently that day. He avoided eye contact with his father. His mother understood without asking.

That night, he could not sleep. He kept thinking:

What is the value of my education?

Why does effort not matter?

For the first time, he felt anger — not at others, but at himself. He blamed his financial condition. He blamed circumstances. He blamed luck.

But in that darkness, something changed. Instead of crying, he made a decision.

"If I don't have higher qualification, I will build skills," he whispered to himself.

It was not a loud promise. It was quiet. But it was real.
