Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 : The Fight That Wasn’t About Love

________________________________________

Kiara's POV – "I Said Don't Touch Him."

Our section is unhinged.

Let's be clear. Arguments? Normal. Shouting? Daily. Shoving? Happens.

So when two boys from another section started pushing Abhishek near the staircase because of some stupid football argument, nobody was shocked. But it escalated fast.

One of them grabbed Vihaan's collar when he stepped in. That's when something inside me snapped. I don't know why.

Maybe because I hate unfair fights. Maybe because I hate seeing someone grabbed like that.

Or maybe because I was already irritated from missing my lunch break. Food is sacred.

I walked straight in. "Leave him."

The guy looked at me and laughed. "What are you going to do?"

Wrong question. Very wrong fucking question.

He tried pushing Vihaan again. I didn't even think. I grabbed his wrist, twisted it hard, stepped behind him and shoved him forward. He stumbled. Crowd gasped. The second guy lunged toward Abhishek. I blocked him, elbowed him in the ribs and kicked his shin.

He swore loudly. "WHAT THE HELL—"

"Don't fucking touch my section," I snapped.

Dead silence. The staircase froze. The boys backed off, cursing under their breath. I stood there breathing hard.

Then looked at Abhishek. "You good?"

He blinked at me like I just pulled out a sword. "Yeah…"

I turned to Vihaan. "You?" He nodded slowly.

That's it. I adjusted my bag. "Next time don't waste energy on idiots." And walked away.

Because I had a maths test. And marks > drama.

Obviously.

Vihaan's POV – "What The Hell Just Happened?"

What is she??

I've been in fights. Real ones. Punches. Detentions. Principal warnings. But no one has ever stepped in for me like that.

No hesitation. No panic. She just moved. Like she knew exactly what she was doing. And the way she twisted that guy's wrist? That wasn't luck. That was training.

Abhishek whispered beside me, "Bro… she's fucking dangerous."

I didn't respond. I was still replaying it in my head. The focus in her eyes. No drama. No fear. Just clean execution.

And after all that? She checked if we were okay like it was nothing.

Nothing. No lingering look. No extra words. Just… done.

Why the hell does that hit harder than anything?

So fucking annoying.

Abhishek's POV – "Bro I Need To Recalculate"

Okay listen.

I tease her. I irritate her. I talk shit. But I did not sign up for this girl to suddenly become a trained fighter.

When that guy grabbed Vihaan, I was ready to swing. Then she just… took over. Like some action movie. And she wasn't even angry. She was calm. That's scarier. Maybe I should stop messing with her. Who knows, I don't want to be at that earlier guy's place, if her patience runs out for me. She's dangerous.

I looked at Vihaan after she left. He wasn't smirking. He wasn't joking. He looked… stunned. Interesting. Very interesting.

Later I told him, "You owe her."

He snapped, "I didn't ask for help."

Yeah but you didn't stop her either, bro.

Sasha's POV – "Oh So Now She's A Hero?"

Before Kiara came, attention was balanced. People talked to me. Arjun used to sit near me. Mayank used to text me.

Now? Everything somehow circles around her.

Even when she's not trying.

And today? She fights two boys and suddenly the whole section is worshipping her.

"Bro she's insane."

"She's strong."

"She's badass."

I hate how easily she becomes the main character. And the worst part? She doesn't even look like she cares.

When Arjun told her later, "That was cool," She just shrugged. "It was basic self-defense." Self-defense??

I can't even defend my charger from disappearing in class. This is so annoying.

____

Later in class, something small happened. Arjun was explaining a physics doubt to me and Kiara overheard.

She said casually, "Yeah Arjun's good at this chapter."

Simple.

Normal.

But Vihaan heard it. And for some reason, his jaw tightened. He looked away.

I noticed. Abhishek noticed. Kiara? Completely clueless. Of course.

Vihaan Losing His Cool (Silently)

Vihaan's POV

Why does it bother me that she praised him? It wasn't even dramatic. Just "he's good at this chapter." But it felt like something twisted inside my chest.

Ridiculous.

I don't even talk to her properly. Why should it matter who she praises?

It shouldn't.

But it does.

And I hate that. So fucking much.

Kiara's Inner Thoughts

Today was chaotic. Two boys fought. I fought.

Kiara Focus.

Marks.

Future.

Food.

Sleep

Also maybe bring extra lunch tomorrow. Fighting burns calories. Damn. This school is insane. And somehow… I'm starting to enjoy it. Which is slightly concerning. 😌🔥
