I found myself studying Sebastian's face, attempting to decode the words that had just left his lips. Return to the mansion? The estate where we had performed our elaborate masquerade. Where our connection had deepened beyond what either of us had anticipated. Where I had dangerously close to losing myself in something that wasn't real.

"I'm not certain that would be wise," I managed to say.

"You're probably right," he conceded, catching me off guard with his honesty. "But it makes sense logically. And your alternatives are limited at the moment."

I compressed my lips into a thin line, my eyes drifting to the single piece of luggage beside me. His assessment was accurate. Oakwood Valley was experiencing its busiest tourist season. Even the most basic accommodations were either completely booked or demanding astronomical prices.
