Sebastian's POV

The leather seat creaked under me as I shifted for what felt like the countless time in the past while. The tiny earpiece pressed against my ear was working perfectly, transmitting every word from Maya's conversation with Julian through the recorder tucked in her purse. Diamondrange clear audio didn't make this any less torturous.

"You're going to wear a hole in that seat if you keep moving around like that," Dominic said from behind the wheel, catching my restless energy in the rearview mirror. "Seriously, you look like some kind of deranged stalker right now."

"Watch it, Dominic." The words came out sharper than intended, but I couldn't take my eyes off the cafe window where two silhouettes sat across from each other.

Penny twisted around in the passenger seat, grinning like this was the most entertaining thing she'd seen all week. "He's not wrong though. You're wound tighter than a spring. It's actually kind of adorable."
