Chapter 121 - Chapter 121 The Damning Evidence

Sebastian's POV

The wooden crate sat in the pantry like a loaded weapon, its sealed lid mocking me from across the kitchen. An envelope was attached to the top, pristine white against the dark wood.

Maya's footsteps approached from behind, but I couldn't tear my gaze away from that damning package.

"What is it?" Her voice carried an edge of worry that made my jaw clench.

I seized the box and slammed it onto the granite countertop, ripping the envelope free with violent precision.

"Care to explain why this showed up here?" The words came out like shards of glass.

"Sebastian, wait—" she began, but I was already tearing open the envelope.

A pristine card fell into my palm, its gold embossing catching the overhead lights like a cruel joke.
