The silence that followed Sebastian's revelation felt suffocating, pressing against my chest like a weight. I studied his battered face, struggling to comprehend the implications of his words. This wasn't some random accident. Someone had deliberately tried to end his life.
"How can you possibly be certain?" The question escaped my lips in a whisper, though I fought to keep my voice steady.
Sebastian's eyes drifted shut, and I watched his jaw clench as if he were forcing himself to relive that terrifying night.
"The car had been tailing me," he said, each word measured and deliberate. "From the moment I left your place, there was this dark SUV maintaining distance behind me through multiple city blocks."
