Chapter 1 - The Blue Diary and a Piece of Sunshine

Away from the noise of the city, an old man named Abinash Babu lived in a small old-age home. After retirement, all he truly owned was an old trunk and a blue diary. He always kept the diary with him, but no one had ever seen what he wrote in it.

People thought that maybe he wrote down the sorrows of his lonely life. One day, a little girl from the home named Moli could not control her curiosity anymore. She asked,

"Grandpa, does this blue diary contain all your sad stories?"

Abinash Babu smiled gently. He asked Moli to sit beside him and opened the diary. Moli looked at the pages with surprise. There were no long stories written there—only a few small lines:

10th March: This morning I watched a pair of myna birds arguing near the window. It was wonderful.

15th April: The boy next door looked at me and gave me a sweet smile.

2nd June: After many days, I smelled the fresh earthy scent of the soil after rain.

Moli looked surprised and said,

"Grandpa, these are very ordinary things! Why did you write them?"

Abinash Babu replied softly,

"My dear child, people spend their whole lives running after big happiness. But in the end, big happiness does not come easily. Then people think their life is full of sorrow. But if we notice these small moments, we will see that God gives us many gifts every single day. I just keep a record of those gifts."

That day, Moli learned a new lesson. She realized that true happiness is not in big achievements, but in the small beautiful moments around us. 🌤️📘
