Chapter 4 - Chapter 5: The Signal and the Seed

Chapter 5: The Signal and the Seed

The morning after the inauguration, the "Lazy King" was already breaking the traditions of a thousand years. Rimon sat in the newly designated Strategic Development Lab—which was really just a repurposed tea room with too many chalkboards.

"Observation Haki," Rimon whispered, his eyes sliding shut.

His consciousness expanded. He didn't just feel the chakra of the villagers; he saw their potential as glowing embers of different colors. This was the Prodigy Nursery in action.

> * Uzumaki Arashi (orphan): [Potential: A] - Focus: High-Frequency Vibration Seals.

> * Uzumaki Mito (toddler): [Potential: S] - Focus: Sensory/Medical.

Rimon scribbled names onto a list. "Arashi has the perfect chakra control for the transmission seals. Mito... wait, she has the same name as the first Jinchuriki. She'll be the head of the new Medical Research wing."

He looked at the pile of copper wire and ink-soaked scrolls on his desk. It was time to give the Whirlpool its first technological leap.

The Resonance Network (Radio-Seals)

Rimon called in the top five sealing masters, including a very confused Ashina.

"Old man, look at this," Rimon said, pointing to a pair of small, circular seals engraved on thin copper plates. "Most seals are 'Passive.' They wait for a trigger. These are 'Active.' They vibrate."

"Vibrate?" Ashina squinted. "To what end, Rimon?"

"To the end of the messenger bird," Rimon replied. "I've mapped the chakra frequencies of the Uzumaki bloodline. By 'tuning' these seals to a specific resonance, I can speak into this seal in the North Watchtower, and you can hear my voice in the South Pier instantly. No delay. No interception."

One of the masters gasped. "Instant communication across the whole island? That would make our coordination... perfect."

"Not just the island," Rimon's eyes sharpened. "Eventually, the whole world. I'm calling it the Resonance Network. But I need the kids from the Nursery to maintain the relay stations. Their chakra is 'cleaner'—less 'noise' in the signal."

The Nursery's First Lesson

Later that afternoon, Rimon stood in the courtyard with a group of twenty children, all aged 8 to 13. Kushina was at the front, looking annoyed that she had to "study" instead of "training."

"Listen up, brats," Rimon drawled, leaning against a tree. "Today we're learning about Waves. Not the ocean kind—the invisible kind."

He held up a seal. "Everything in the world vibrates. Your chakra, the air, even the ground. If you can match the vibration of two objects, they become 'linked.' Kushina, come here."

Kushina stomped over. "I want to learn how to blow things up, Rimon-baka!"

"You want to blow things up? Fine," Rimon smirked. "Match your chakra to the frequency of this stone. If you do it right, the internal molecules will vibrate so fast the stone will turn to dust. If you do it wrong, it'll just get warm. If you turn it to dust, I'll teach you the Grand Fireball tomorrow."

Kushina's eyes went wide. She grabbed the stone, her face scrunched in concentration.

Within minutes, the stone began to hum. A second later, it crumbled into a fine white powder. The other children gasped.

"That... that wasn't a jutsu," one boy whispered. "She didn't use hand signs!"

"Hand signs are just training wheels," Rimon said, standing straight. "From now on, the Academy teaches Scientific Fuinjutsu. We aren't just ninja. We are the masters of the physical world. Arashi, you're on relay duty. Kushina, you're on the 'Heavy Hitter' track. Class dismissed. Go get some ramen; tomorrow we start building the Radar Array."

The Hidden Progress

As the kids ran off, shouting and excited, Rimon sat back down. His Observer's Archive flashed a warning.

> [Alert: Mist Scouting Vessels detected 50 miles off the coast.]

> [Enemy Intent: Hostile.]

>

Rimon didn't panic. He pulled out a specialized seal—the one marked with a stylized sun.

"The Mist thinks they're attacking a bunch of old men and children," Rimon muttered, looking at the Red Line Distress Signal icon. "They have no idea that the 'Liberation God' is just a heartbeat away if they push me."

He tapped his communication seal. "Arashi, you there? Testing, one, two."

"I-I hear you, Young Master! Loud and clear!" the boy's voice crackled through the air.

Rimon smiled. "Good. Tell the perimeter guards to stay calm. Let the Mist scouts get a little closer. I want them to think we're still sleeping... right before we wake them up with a nightmare."
