Chapter 48: A Future in Motion
The afternoon sun slowly drifted toward the horizon as the ocean breeze moved across the balcony of Anshul's newly purchased villa. The calm sound of waves crashing against the distant cliffs created a peaceful atmosphere that felt far removed from the chaos of reporters, school gossip, and royal announcements.
Mia leaned against the railing, looking out at the ocean.
"This place feels unreal," she said quietly.
"Why?"
"Because everything is changing so fast."
She glanced back toward the living room behind them.
"Yesterday you were living in a hotel."
"Today I'm not."
"That's exactly what I mean," she replied with a laugh.
For a moment they stood there in silence.
Then Mia turned toward him.
"So what happens next?"
"With what?"
"Everything," she said. "Your business. Your plans. Your mysterious traveling life."
Anshul rested his arms lightly on the balcony railing while thinking for a moment.
"The company will grow first."
"In San Francisco?"
"Partly."
She tilted her head.
"What does that mean?"
"It means this city is only one of the places I'll work from."
Mia raised an eyebrow.
"That sounds very dramatic."
"It's just practical."
She watched him for a moment before smiling.
"You really do think big."
"That's usually the point."
Mia walked back inside the house slowly, examining the large living room again.
"You know something?"
"What?"
"This place is so big it feels empty."
"That will change."
"How?"
"Furniture. Equipment. People eventually."
She turned toward him again.
"You mean employees?"
"Among other things."
Mia nodded slowly.
"Well, if your mysterious company becomes famous someday, I can say I saw the headquarters before it even existed."
Anshul smiled faintly.
"Something like that."
They moved back inside as the sunlight began fading outside the glass windows.
Mia sat on the couch and looked around the room again.
"So your life is basically going to become business meetings and secret travel?"
"Not entirely."
"Good," she said. "Because I refuse to date someone who disappears all the time."
"I'll try to avoid that."
She laughed softly.
"You better."
After a moment she asked another question.
"Do your parents know about any of this?"
Anshul paused briefly.
"Not yet."
Mia leaned forward slightly.
"Won't they get suspicious?"
"Eventually."
"So what happens when they do?"
"I'll tell them."
"That sounds terrifying," she said.
"Probably."
Mia leaned back against the couch.
"Well… if they ever want to meet the princess their son is dating, I'll try not to embarrass you."
"I'm sure you'll manage."
She smiled.
Outside, the sun had nearly disappeared behind the ocean horizon.
The quiet villa slowly darkened as evening arrived.
For now, things were calm.
The business was beginning.
His relationship with Mia was growing stronger.
And the foundation of a future far larger than either of them could fully imagine was slowly taking shape.
Somewhere beyond the calm ocean view—
Entire worlds were waiting.
