Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Miracle.....?

The door of the operation theatre slowly opened.

Several doctors walked out with tired expressions on their faces.

A man immediately stood up from the bench in the hallway.

"Doctor… my wife… my child…?" his voice trembled.

The doctor lowered his head slightly.

"I'm sorry, sir… we couldn't save the child."

Those words echoed through the silent corridor.

For a moment, the man couldn't react.

"…What?"

"Your wife is stable," the doctor continued gently. "But she is still unconscious. It would be better if you meet her later."

The man's legs felt weak.

Tears slowly rolled down his face as he covered it with his hands.

Behind him, the grandparents and relatives stood in silence. Some looked down sadly, while others quietly wiped their tears.

The hallway was filled with grief.

Then—

tap… tap… tap…

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor.

A young assistant doctor came running toward the operating room.

"Man… my first day and I'm already dealing with an operation," he muttered under his breath.

Without thinking too much, he pushed open the door and entered the operation theatre.

Inside, the room was mostly quiet now.

The doctors and nurses had already left.

As he walked past one of the tables, something caught his attention.

For a brief moment…

he thought he saw something move.

He stopped.

"…Huh?"

He stared at the small body wrapped in white cloth.

"Maybe I'm just imagining things," he sighed.

But then—

the cloth moved again.

The assistant doctor's eyes widened.

He quickly stepped closer and carefully lifted the cloth.

What he saw made him freeze.

The baby's chest was rising slowly.

"…He's breathing?"

Then the newborn slowly opened his eyes.

Two golden eyes reflected the bright hospital lights.

The young doctor stared in disbelief.

Golden eyes.

That was strange.

Very strange.

Because from what he knew…

no one in that family had golden eyes.

The young doctor carefully carried the baby into the hallway.

The crying family slowly looked up in confusion.

"Sir… I think there has been a mistake," the assistant doctor said nervously.

He gently held the baby forward.

"Your son… is alive."

For a moment, no one moved.

The father stared in disbelief.

Then he slowly stepped closer.

Wrapped in the white cloth, the newborn quietly opened his eyes.

Those strange golden eyes looked around for a moment…

before stopping on the man standing in front of him.

The baby blinked slowly.

Then, as if curious, he lifted his tiny hands and began moving them in the air, softly playing with his own fingers.

The father's hands trembled.

Tears streamed down his face.

"…My son…"

And under the bright hospital lights…

those golden eyes continued to quietly watch him.
