Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Beginning of a New History

That day came to be known as The Day of Purification.

In the midst of a great war that involved the most powerful nations of the world, the shortage of resources had been one of its primary causes. Humanity believed it was living through its darkest era under the shadow of continuous nuclear bombardment, which had already claimed the lives of billions.

Then, without any warning…

Natural disasters swept across the entire planet, crushing every form of civilization and casting humanity's magnificent history — which had endured for tens of thousands of years — into oblivion.

The losses of that day were estimated to exceed ninety-five percent of the human race, while the majority of other living creatures were either wiped out or horribly mutated.

Amidst the chaos of these disasters, a white light began to leak from cracks within the earth itself. It spread across the world until the entire planet was filled with its overwhelming glow. Every survivor of what would later be called "The Earth's Wrath" witnessed it.

The light was so intense that many believed they would lose their sight from its brilliance.

Yet as the light slowly began to fade, people opened their eyes and found themselves standing in the middle of a vast field of flowers stretching endlessly toward the horizon.

The vibrant colors of the flowers captivated everyone.

Far in the distance, they noticed the silhouette of a massive olive tree, its branches spreading wide across the sky.

Despite the great distance, they could clearly see a woman with purple hair standing beneath the tree, holding a small boy with dark purple hair who appeared to be no older than twelve.

The boy was crying bitterly while the woman whispered softly into his ear.

And although the distance between them was immense, everyone could hear her voice as if she were standing right beside them.

Her whisper carried across the endless field:

"It is not yet time for us to become a family… we must wait for your father and your brother."

Soon afterward, everyone awakened from what seemed like a dream.

Even though each person had experienced it alone, the fact that every survivor shared the same vision made them realize that they had all been present in the same garden, somehow separated yet witnessing the same moment at the same time.

The remnants of humanity rose to face their new world, built upon the ruins of everything they had created throughout history.

It felt as if they had awakened in an entirely different reality.

The planet's ecosystem had completely changed from the one humanity once knew.

The first survivors of The Day of Purification — named so because everything happened within a single day — were forced to explore their new world and confront the strange phenomena that had appeared within it: monsters and plagues that spread across the lands.

Soon, those early humans discovered that they had developed strange physical and mystical abilities, born from a mysterious energy connected to the soul.

This energy would later be known as:

Ru.

The world itself had been divided into four continents, each drastically different from the others, as though each one existed within its own separate reality.

With most of humanity's ancient history lost, people adopted The Year of Purification as the first year of their new calendar.

For decades, humanity devoted all its efforts to studying Ru and the mysteries of their transformed world.

After years of research into the Raw Core of Ru, scholars eventually concluded that the light that had flooded the world during the Day of Purification had actually been raw Ru energy, which spread across the entire planet and then divided itself among all living beings.

This phenomenon caused the mutation of countless life forms.

Those humans who could not withstand the immense surge of Ru that day transformed into various monstrous creatures.

Among them, the most common and infamous were known as:

The Replicated Beasts.

Despite the tremendous progress humanity achieved in studying the truth behind that day, most of its mysteries remained unsolved.

What was the connection between the disasters and Ru?

What was the true source of Ru?

How did it come into existence?

And what did all of this have to do with the strange dream of the garden?

For decades, these questions remained a source of fear and anxiety for humanity.

After all, the unknown had always been mankind's greatest fear.

Some believed that "The Heart of the Earth" was the source of Ru, and that the disasters had been a form of punishment for humanity's ignorance and corruption.

However, the majority refused to rely on theories that lacked logic or evidence.

With time…

Humanity began to adapt to their new world.

They accepted their reality.

And thus…

A new history for mankind began.
