Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — The Day the Sunshine Fought Back

The penthouse had never been this quiet.

Usually, mornings in the headquarters of the Seven Shadows Syndicate were chaotic.

Phones ringing.

Security teams reporting.

Yoongi's music echoing from the studio floor.

Jimin arguing with Jungkook over training schedules.

And somewhere in the middle of it all—

Hoseok's laughter.

But today…

Silence.

Because Hoseok wasn't there.

Namjoon stood at the head of the long black table in the strategy room.

His hands were clasped behind his back.

His expression was terrifyingly calm.

But everyone in the room knew what that meant.

He was furious.

Taehyung leaned against the wall, flipping a knife slowly between his fingers.

Jimin paced like a predator.

Jungkook sat forward in his chair, elbows on his knees, eyes burning.

Yoongi stared at the tablet showing the live tracking signal.

And Jin…

Jin looked like he was ready to burn the world down.

"Location confirmed," Yoongi finally said quietly.

The screen glowed.

An abandoned industrial complex near the harbor.

Namjoon's voice dropped into something cold enough to freeze blood.

"Move."

Meanwhile…

Hoseok blinked slowly.

Everything hurt.

His wrists were tied behind a metal chair.

The room smelled like rust and gasoline.

And the lights were painfully bright.

Across the room stood the man who had kidnapped him.

Park Daejin.

A rival mafia leader who had been trying to take down the Seven Shadows for years.

Daejin smiled when Hoseok woke up.

"Well look who's awake."

Hoseok swallowed.

His heart raced.

Normally…

When Hoseok was scared like this…

His mind would slip.

Into little space.

Into that soft place where he felt small and safe and someone would take care of him.

But something was different today.

He could feel it.

The memory of Namjoon teaching him how to breathe slowly.

Jungkook guiding his stance in the training room.

Jimin helping him practice basic defense.

Yoongi telling him quietly, "Even sunshine can burn."

They had all been trying to teach him.

Because they knew one day…

This might happen.

Daejin crouched in front of him.

"You're the weak link," he said softly.

"Their pretty little weakness."

Hoseok's hands trembled.

But he forced himself to breathe.

Slow.

In.

Out.

He could hear Namjoon's voice in his head.

Control your fear.

Daejin grabbed his chin roughly.

"You know… they'll come for you."

Hoseok's voice came out shaky but clear.

"I know."

Daejin chuckled.

"Good. That makes this easier."

He stood and turned away.

"Prepare the cameras. I want them to watch."

Hoseok's heart dropped.

Back at the Syndicate convoy

Six black armored vehicles tore through the city.

Inside the lead car—

Namjoon loaded his gun calmly.

Click.

Click.

Across from him Jin checked a knife hidden in his sleeve.

"Alive," Jin said quietly.

Namjoon nodded.

"Alive."

In the second car, Jungkook cracked his knuckles.

"I swear if they hurt him—"

"They did," Jimin interrupted coldly.

Taehyung smirked darkly.

"Then they're dead."

Yoongi finished assembling a sniper rifle.

"They were dead the moment they touched him."

Back at the warehouse

Hoseok sat still.

Trying to stay calm.

But the fear kept creeping in.

The room felt too big.

Too loud.

Too scary.

And slowly…

His mind started slipping.

His fingers curled helplessly.

His breathing turned shaky.

Little space was pulling him under.

Three months old.

Small.

Helpless.

Wanting someone to hold him.

"Dada…" he whispered without realizing.

Tears filled his eyes.

Across the room one of the guards laughed.

"Boss, the hostage is crying."

Daejin turned.

And grinned.

"Even better."

But then—

Something inside Hoseok shifted.

A memory surfaced.

Jungkook standing behind him during training.

Hands guiding his arms.

"You're not weak, hyung."

Jimin smiling softly.

"Being gentle doesn't mean you can't fight."

Namjoon's steady voice.

"You only need to protect yourself long enough for us to reach you."

Hoseok sniffled.

His breathing steadied.

His little-space mind flickered.

Still small.

Still soft.

But not helpless.

He wiggled his wrists slowly.

The rope rubbed painfully.

But—

Jin had taught him something.

Never tie someone without checking their fingers.

Hoseok's fingers moved carefully.

Slow.

Twisting.

Sliding.

The knot loosened.

Just slightly.

Across the room the guards were distracted by the cameras.

Good.

Hoseok kept working.

His heart pounded.

Just a little more.

Outside the warehouse

The six cars stopped.

Namjoon stepped out first.

His voice was quiet.

"Positions."

Taehyung disappeared into the shadows instantly.

Jungkook rolled his shoulders.

Jimin checked his blades.

Yoongi climbed onto a rooftop.

Jin cracked his neck.

Namjoon looked at the building.

"They took our sunshine."

His eyes turned dark.

"Take it back."

Inside

Hoseok's hands slipped free.

He froze.

The rope fell silently to the floor.

His heart hammered.

One guard stood closest.

Gun on his belt.

Hoseok remembered Jungkook's lessons.

Move fast.

Aim low.

Don't hesitate.

The guard turned slightly—

Hoseok moved.

He lunged forward and shoved the chair into the man's knees.

The guard crashed to the floor with a shout.

Hoseok grabbed the gun.

Hands shaking violently.

But he pointed it.

Just like Jungkook showed him.

The room erupted into chaos.

"What the—?!"

Gunfire exploded.

Hoseok ducked behind a metal table.

His entire body trembled.

But he didn't drop the weapon.

He fired once.

The recoil shocked him.

But one guard dropped.

"Oh shit—"

Another guard rushed him.

Hoseok panicked—

And suddenly the warehouse doors exploded open.

The Six Devils Arrived

Gunshots thundered.

Taehyung moved like a ghost, knives flashing.

Jimin spun through enemies like a dancer with blades.

Jungkook slammed into two men at once, fists brutal and fast.

Yoongi's sniper shots echoed from above.

Jin disarmed a guard and snapped his neck effortlessly.

And Namjoon walked through the chaos like a storm.

Within seconds—

Bodies hit the ground.

Daejin grabbed Hoseok from behind.

Gun to his head.

"STOP!"

The room froze.

Daejin laughed wildly.

"You're too late."

Hoseok whimpered softly.

"Joon…"

Namjoon's voice softened instantly.

"I'm here."

Daejin pressed the gun harder.

"Drop your weapons."

No one moved.

Jungkook looked ready to explode.

Jimin's eyes burned.

But Namjoon slowly lowered his gun.

"It's okay, sunshine," he said gently.

"You did so well."

Hoseok's lip trembled.

"I tried…"

"You did perfect."

And then—

Hoseok stomped on Daejin's foot.

Hard.

The man yelped.

Jungkook moved like lightning.

Bang.

The gun flew out of Daejin's hand.

Taehyung slammed him to the floor.

Jimin pinned him.

Jin broke his arm.

Yoongi shot the remaining guards.

And Namjoon reached Hoseok first.

Hoseok collapsed into his arms instantly.

The moment he was safe—

His mind fully slipped.

Little space.

"Joon… up…"

Namjoon lifted him immediately.

"It's okay."

Hoseok clung to him like a tiny koala.

"Scary…"

Jin gently wiped blood from his cheek.

"It's over, baby."

Jungkook hugged him from behind.

"You were amazing."

Hoseok sniffled.

"Did… did good?"

Jimin kissed his forehead.

"You were brave."

Taehyung smiled softly.

"Our sunshine fought."

Yoongi ruffled his hair.

"Told you you're dangerous."

Hoseok giggled sleepily.

Then buried his face in Namjoon's neck.

And fell asleep.

Later — Back at the Penthouse

Hoseok sat on the couch wrapped in blankets.

Tiny.

Curled up.

Still in little space.

Jungkook fed him strawberries.

Jimin brushed his hair.

Taehyung played cartoons on the TV.

Yoongi sat beside him quietly.

Jin made soup.

Namjoon watched them all.

Hoseok blinked up at them sleepily.

"Mine?"

All six answered at once.

"Yes."

Hoseok smiled.

And curled deeper into the pile of mafia kings.

The most dangerous men in the city.

Who would destroy the world for him.
