Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

I run back inside and shut the door. My heart beat rising, my whole body trembling. My mind running with thoughts, with questions. I need to freshen up my mind.

I grab my coat and left my house in a hurry. I walk near my house's cafe, where an old woman work. She was a good and an old friend of my grandmother. Maybe she can answer my questions.

"Lycia!" A grin plastered on her face like usual, she is the sweetest person I have met after my grandmother. She hugs me.

"It's been a long time my child!" She says while hugging me.

"I need to talk about something, auntie June" I try to not look scared. I don't wanna worry her.

She senses my urgency and then makes me sit on a chair. Hands me coffee and sits in front of me.

"Is everything alright?" She asks, I can see a concerned look on her face.

I sigh

"Auntie June, did my grandmother ever told you anything about her workshop?" I ask

"Oh her workshop? It was the place that she was in love with, she spent more than half of her life there." Aunt says with a smile on her face.

"I know about this aunt. I meant, anything strange?" I ask, trying to stop my voice from cracking.

She shook her head.

I leave her cafe and take a breath to steady myself. Maybe it was just because of the weather or maybe it's because I am missing her presence.

Ugh, I am gonna get crazy if this keeps happening. I don't have any choice but to live there, i can't book any hotel, because hotels are far from my workplace. I can't go to a friend's house, I mean how many days will I be there and bother them? I run a hand through my hair.

I open the door of my house, I feel a shiver through my spine. Maybe my grandmother was right, I should have had a boyfriend so I can go to him. Maybe he would have understood my fear and not think that I am being crazy.

I sit on my couch, I remove my coat and then turn off the TV. I was trying to concentrate on the TV, but I was trying to stop me from going back to look out at the workshop through the window. I turn off the TV and then lean back on the couch. Easing my shoulders and putting my head back.

I open my eyes, I should check again. Maybe it was just a hallucination.

I walk towards the window and open the curtains slightly, enough to let my eyes look at the workshop.

It was broken. The glass was broken.

I ignore the tightening in my chest, I go back to my room and then lay on the bed. My heart was beating so fast that I can hear it. I finally doze off to sleep.

Finally, this worst day was over, I can leave this house to work and I don't think I am gonna come back earlier from now on. I will work on my weekends too or I will just stay outside. I get ready to leave for my office.

I sit in my car and then I start the engine. I reach my office and I sit on my desk.

"Good morning lycia" the manager leaning on my desk.

"Good morning sir" I smile, he was a clingy and a womanizer, now his target was me.

"How was your weekend? Did you spend sweet time with your boyfriend?" He says while rolling up his sleeves, showcasing his tattooed arm.

"Yes it was nice, maybe I should get back to work." Yeah I have lied to him that I have a boyfriend, so that he will keep a distance from me, it's working but little.

"Fine fine, keep your work and when you are done, submit it to me in the office." He chuckles and left.

I scoff to myself, he always makes other workers bring the paper work to him, but now he wants me to come? That's shady.

"Your coffee." Amelia hands to me.

"Thanks my saviour!" I smile and take the coffee from her. She's my colleague and a work partner because her desk is beside me. She's a married woman, who is intelligent. She never listens crap and has a serious face all the time. But yeah she becomes softer around me, she have told me that she sees me as her little sister.

"Is he bothering you?" She asks, having a stern tone like always.

I shook my head, faking a smile.

"He's a stupid, if he wouldn't have been the manager, I would have kicked him and made him cry." I say to her

"If he ever tried to get close to you, don't hesitate to do that. I will handle the aftermath." Her father had power but still she was working here, she's an independent lady.

I nod while smiling, a genuine one.

The sky starts getting dark, people leaving the office. I am used to working here late but my work is done. I gulp as I remember that I have to go back to that house.

I start moving towards the manager's office, I knock on the door.

"Come in!" His voice from inside.

"Here is the article, it's ready to be published." I hand it to him.

"That's great." He places the article on the table and then stands.

"You know why I called you here sweetheart?" He starts moving towards me.

I might fear my house but not humans. I know how to handle people like him.

"Why did you call me here sir?" I fake a smile, my hands clenching.

"I wanted to change your thoughts about me, I want us to get closer." He says, that disgusting smirk on his face.

"I am not able to understand, can you explain it briefly and straightforwardly sir?" I ask, that fake smile plastered on my face.

"I want to spend time with you, will you say yes?" He asks

"No." I say straightforwardly.

"I am not used to get rejected, especially from someone who doesn't have a position, so I wouldn't take this no." He says, moving his hand to touch my waist.

I can't control this anymore.
