Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Fracture of Dreams and the Refusal of Immortality

In the original timeline, Tsunade struggled with the trauma of her past and her phobia of blood, but she ultimately chose to protect the Will of Fire. Here, faced with the ultimate temptation of Aizen and the terrifying evolution of Sakura, the test was infinitely more grueling.

The Grand Refusal

Silence hung for seconds that felt like eons. Tsunade looked at Sakura's outstretched hand, then at Aizen, who stood behind Jiraiya like a cosmic darkness swallowing the light. She felt the pull of the Void tugging at her soul, promising the return of Dan and her brother Nawaki—promising a world where loss was an obsolete concept.

But then, she remembered the old face of Naruto, the boy who used to shout that he would become Hokage. She remembered the sacrifice of her teacher, Hiruzen.

"You've misjudged me, Sakura," Tsunade said, wiping the blood from her lip, her eyes igniting with a flame that hadn't been seen in years. "I am not just a medic who heals wounds. I am a descendant of the Senju Clan, the sole heir to the man who built this village. The 'Void' you offer isn't life... it's just a cold, hollow amnesia."

Tsunade let out a primal roar and activated her forbidden seal: "Byakugou (Strength of a Hundred)!"

Black markings surged across her skin, emitting a chakra so massive it resisted Aizen's spiritual pressure for a few defiant seconds. "I will be the Fifth Hokage! Not to protect trees, but to protect the souls you think you own!"

Aizen's Reaction

Aizen did not grow angry. Instead, the thin, cold smile faded, replaced by an expression of profound boredom.

"Unfortunate," Aizen said, raising his hand slowly. "Willpower has always been the shackle that prevents humanity from transcendence. If you choose to perish with the ruins of the past, so be it."

Before Aizen could strike, Sakura stepped forward, her eyes overflowing with a strange, mourning sadness. "Tsunade-sama... you have chosen the difficult path. The Master does not like repetition."

In that moment, Jiraiya intervened with his full strength, using a "Cho-Oodama Rasengan" (Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan) to create a massive explosion and a spatial opening for escape. "Tsunade! Shizune! Go now! Konoha needs you!"

The Akatsuki Path: The Wrath of Pain

While Tsunade retreated toward Konoha to claim the throne amidst a siege of despair, Itachi and Kisame arrived at the Akatsuki headquarters. News of their absolute defeat at the hands of Sasuke and Naruto had preceded them.

Atop the highest tower in the Hidden Rain Village, Pain sat, his Rinnegan glowing with a lethal coldness. Beside him stood Konan, who felt fear for the first time in her adult life.

"A new god has appeared in the desert," Itachi said, clutching his unhealed eye. "He does not use chakra. He manipulates our very souls as if they were puppets."

Pain stood up slowly, the Six Paths of Pain gathering around him in a silent, macabre formation. "I came to this world to teach humanity the meaning of pain so they could know peace. If this 'Aizen' thinks he is above pain, I will show him the reality of existence. We will gather the remaining Tailed Beasts, and then we will march toward Las Noches with everything we have."

The world was now dividing into two camps: the Old Ninja World, clinging to its last breath under Tsunade's leadership, and the Akatsuki, who sought to destroy Aizen to validate Pain's own divinity.
