Vivienne's POV
Alexander had always been a public figure because he was the CEO of Vanguard Global Enterprises. He appeared often in financial news and business magazines.
People admired his looks his height and his powerful family background. He had no scandals and a strong reputation so many people online treated him like a perfect role model. Isabella was also famous overseas. She had beauty fame and strong professional achievements.
When people saw them together they said they were the perfect couple with talent and status.
The internet exploded with excitement about them.
Fans started posting nonstop. They created edits fan art and stories about their relationship. A hashtag appeared online using both of their names and it became popular very quickly.
Thousands of people followed the topic every day.
Some fans even changed their usernames to jokes about whether they had already gotten married. People said Alexander had stayed single all these years because he was waiting for Isabella to return. Everyone described their story like a fairy tale.
I sat in my office scrolling through the posts. Every comment felt like a knife cutting into me. My hands shook while holding my phone. I could barely breathe. I was his legal wife yet the whole world celebrated another woman beside him.
I forced myself to calm down then turned off my phone. I stood up and walked to the CEO office.
I knocked and walked inside.
I told him that CCPR handling of the trending topic situation was not appropriate. He looked at me with a cold expression and asked what I meant. I explained that linking Isabella so closely with V and R would damage the brand direction and long term planning.
That was the professional reason. The personal reason was that I did not want my work connected to her but I kept that part inside.
Alexander smirked and asked if I was speaking honestly or trying to hide my own failed plan. I was shocked and asked why he said that. He accused me of leaking the trending topics myself because I had connections with investors.
He said I wanted to hurt Isabella career. My mind went blank. I asked if that was really how he saw me. He answered coldly and said if I was unhappy with the agreement I could have spoken to him directly instead of attacking Isabella.
I felt like my chest was being crushed. I could not breathe. We had been married for three years yet he believed I was capable of something so dirty.
He asked if my next step would be to expose our marriage publicly and destroy Isabella reputation.
Tears filled my eyes but I forced myself to stay calm. I asked him if Isabella was not already a homewrecker.
He went silent for a moment.
All the emotions I had been holding exploded. I reminded him of the promises he made to our grandparents.
I told him that if he had said he could never let go of Isabella I would never have married him. I told him I was human and tired of being stepped on. I said I had already tolerated everything between him and Isabella and asked why he could not be reasonable.
I even said that if I truly wanted revenge I could destroy her career easily.
The room became silent. After a long time he said he had spoken too quickly and apologized.
Hearing the word sorry felt empty. He said he would fix things but insisted Isabella was innocent and did not even know about our marriage.
That hurt even more. I felt tired and defeated so I told him to do whatever he wanted and walked out.
Back in my office I stared at the divorce agreement for a long time. I realized his heart had already left me.
I signed my name slowly and carefully. I called my assistant and told him to deliver the document to Alexander office.
After that I sat quietly feeling numb.
Later that day I received a call from Nana, his grand mom from the old house asking both of us to come home for lunch. She said she missed us and insisted Alexander come as well.
I agreed. After work Alexander texted me to meet him in the garage. I got into the back seat of his car and we drove toward the family house.
During the ride he said Nana probably wanted to discuss the news and that if things went smoothly he would mention the divorce to them.
I felt pain inside but I only nodded and stared out the window while streetlights passed by.
Alexander's POV
I watched Vivienne walk out of my office after our argument. I felt conflicted but I still believed protecting Isabella was important for the company image.
Soon after Vivienne left I received a call from Isabella apologizing for the trending topic incident. I told her I had already handled it and that it would not affect her.
After hanging up I sat quietly thinking about the divorce agreement until Jane, Vivienne's secretary handed me a folder.
When I opened it I saw the signed divorce agreement. Seeing her signature made me pause for a long time before setting it aside.
Isabella's POV
When I saw the trending topics I felt nervous about my reputation. I called Alexander to apologize and he assured me everything was under control. I trusted that Vivienne would not expose their marriage because she cared too much about Alexander reputation.
Alex thought i didn't know he's married to her and about to divorce her. ..oh if only he knew..
I also felt that lately Alexander had been distant when he was around me. I believed it was better if the divorce happened quickly before emotions became more complicated.
