Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15: THE SHATTERING OF THE SACRED BARRIER

The dawn over the Holy Capital of Elarion arrived not with gold, but with the suffocating grey of a funeral shroud. High atop the Gilded Gates—fifty feet of reinforced steel blessed by a thousand priests—ten thousand Holy Knights gripped their spears until their knuckles turned white. They were the "Impenetrable Wall," yet their teeth chattered in the unnatural chill blowing from the North.

[System Notification: Siege of the Holy Capital - Phase 1.] [Zone Aura: 'Terror of the Fallen' - Enemy Morale decreased by 60%.]

Ren stood at the base of the mountain road, a lone silhouette against a tide of shifting shadows. Behind him, the Void Legion didn't breathe; they simply waited. General Valerius, now a dark puppet of his former self, raised a black war-standard that absorbed the very light of the morning.

"Archers! Purify the heretic!" a commander shrieked from the ramparts.

A rain of five thousand arrows, enchanted with 'Divine Sunlight', streaked across the sky like falling stars. Any normal army would have been vaporized. But Ren didn't even raise his hand. He simply stepped forward, and the air around him curdled into a vacuum.

[Skill Activated: Abyssal Event Horizon.]

As the arrows entered his domain, their golden glow sputtered and died. They didn't hit the ground; they simply dissolved into grey ash, carried away by a wind that smelled of the Necropolis.

"Your 'God' is silent, little knights," Ren's voice resonated through the stone of the city walls, vibrating in the marrow of every soldier. "Why do you still pray to a corpse?"

Ren reached out, his obsidian-clawed fingers tracing the air. The Gilded Gates—the symbol of Elarion's eternity—began to groan. The holy runes etched into the metal started to bleed black ichor. The gold plating peeled away like burnt skin, revealing the rusted, trembling iron beneath.

[Ultimate Ability: Void Erasure - Gatebreaker!]

Ren didn't strike the gate. He simply unmade it. A ripple of purple-black energy pulsed from his palm, and where the massive steel doors once stood, there was now only a perfect, silent void. The Gilded Gates hadn't been broken; they had been erased from reality.

"The way is open," Ren whispered, his eyes glowing with the cold fire of a dying star. "Enter. And remember... the Light showed us no mercy. Show them none in return."

With a roar that shook the clouds, the Void Legion surged. The Abyssal Archons flickered through the gap, their blades reaping souls before the knights could even scream. The "Impenetrable Wall" had crumbled in seconds, replaced by the screams of a city that had forgotten what it meant to suffer.

In the high balcony of the palace, Aris watched as his kingdom was breached. His golden sword remained in its sheath, his hands shaking too much to draw it. He realized then that the boy he had murdered hadn't just come back.

He had brought the end of the world with him.
