The vast Tianxu Continent was dominated politically and militarily by three powerful empires— Jinlong Empire on the east,Cangming Empire on the west and Xuanyuan Empire at the centre.
Xuanyuan Empire being the strongest empire,was ruled by the Spirit King,the most sovereign in the state. The empire was under the reign of the Xuanyue clan.
The royal family consisted of Xuanyue Tianhao as the fifty year old Spirit King,Empress Qiu Lan , Consort Gu Yao and two more concubines; Concubine Yu and Concubine Lu.
Xuanyue Liang the Crown Prince and Xuanyue Yueling the first princess were born of the empress, Xuanyue Feng the second prince and Xuanyue Zhen his younger brother, Consort Gu's children, Concubine Yu was childless but still he was the Emperor's favourite and Concubine Lu had twins ; a son — Xuanyue Jianyu and a daughter Xuanyue Xinyi.
