Lily talked the entire walk back to the parking lot.
"I cannot believe you almost kissed him."
Autumn nearly tripped.
"We did not almost kiss."
"You absolutely almost kissed."
"I think you're exaggerating."
Lily stopped beside the car and turned to her.
"Autumn. You two were standing like two magnets that had already decided their fate."
Autumn sighed.
"It was just a moment."
Lily smirked.
"Sure."
Autumn climbed into the passenger seat, but as Lily started the car she glanced back toward the beach.
She could still see Luca near the dying bonfire.
Still watching her.
And the memory of how close he had been lingered like electricity under her skin.
