Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

Evan.

Of course.

The guy who keeps hovering around Autumn like he has some kind of claim on her.

He looks at me like he's already decided I'm the villain in whatever story he's telling himself.

"Something you need?" I ask calmly.

His jaw tightens.

"I was talking to Autumn."

"She can answer."

Autumn sighs.

"Evan, what do you want?"

He hesitates.

Then says quietly,

"You disappeared after the bonfire."

"I went home."

"With him?"

The tension in the room spikes.

Autumn crosses her arms.

"That's not your business."

Evan glares at me.

"Stay away from her."

I almost laugh.

But Autumn speaks first.

"Evan," she says firmly.

"Stop."

The silence stretches.

Then he shakes his head and walks out.

The door slams behind him.

Autumn groans.

"Great."

"Problem?" I ask.

"Yes," she says.

"You."
