Chapter 53 - Waiting for little one

Jay POV:

Months passed...

My pregnancy slowly became a big part of everyone's daily life.

Everyone in the house took care of me so much that sometimes I felt like I wasn't allowed to do anything by myself anymore.

Mom always made sure I ate properly and rested on time.

Dad would bring me whatever fruit I wanted.

Sometimes I didn't even have to ask twice.

If I casually said, "I feel like eating strawberries," they would be in the fridge by evening.

If I wanted mangoes, Dad would bring them home.

And if I said I was hungry, Mom would immediately start preparing something for me.

"Jay, eat this first."

"Mom, I'm not that hungry."

"You still need to eat."

I laughed and took the plate.

"Okay, okay."

Kegain had also become very protective of me.

Whenever he came home from school, one of the first things he asked was,

"Ate, are you okay?"

"I'm perfectly fine."

"Did you eat?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

He would then sit nearby and do his homework.

Sometimes I looked at him and smiled.

"Kegain, why are you always watching me?"

He shrugged.

"Because you're carrying my nephew or niece."

I laughed.

"You've become so responsible."

He smiled proudly.

"I'm going to be a good uncle."

And then there were Kerein and Kaira.

They were probably the most excited about the baby.

Every day, they talked about the baby.

Every single day.

One afternoon, I was sitting on the sofa when Kaira suddenly ran toward me.

"Ate!"

"What happened?"

"When is the baby coming?"

I laughed.

"Still some time left."

Kerein came running behind her.

"I think the baby is taking too long."

"Hey!" I laughed. "The baby needs time to grow."

Kaira carefully placed her little hand on my stomach.

"Baby, please come soon."

Kerein placed his hand beside hers.

"Yes! We want to meet you."

I smiled at them.

"You two are really excited."

Kaira nodded.

"Because I'm going to be an aunty!"

"And I'm going to be an uncle!"

They looked at each other proudly.

"I'll take care of the baby."

"No, I'll take care of the baby!"

"You don't even know how!"

"I know!"

They started arguing again.

I shook my head, laughing.

"You both can take care of the baby together."

They immediately stopped arguing.

"Together?"

"Yes."

They smiled.

"Okay!"

From that day on, they started making plans for the baby.

Kaira wanted to choose the baby's clothes.

Kerein wanted to choose the baby's toys.

Sometimes they would sit beside me and talk to my stomach.

"Baby, I'm your aunty."

"I'm your uncle."

"And you have to listen to us."

I laughed every time.

But the person who had changed the most was Keifer.

He had become extremely protective of me.

"Jay, don't carry that."

"Keifer, it's just a pillow."

"I'll carry it."

"Okay, boss."

He would smile and take it from me.

He even started making sure I didn't walk around too much.

One evening, I stood up from the sofa.

Keifer immediately looked at me.

"Where are you going?"

"Kitchen."

"Why?"

"I want water."

"I'll get it."

"Keifer..."

"What?"

"I can get water myself."

He walked toward me anyway.

"I know you can. But I'll get it."

I laughed.

"You're impossible."

"I know."

He kissed my forehead before going to get the water.

At night, he became even sweeter.

Whenever we went to bed, he would gently place his hand on my stomach.

Sometimes he would talk to the baby for a long time.

"Hey, little one."

I smiled.

"Are you talking to the baby again?"

"Yes."

"The baby can't understand you yet."

"I don't care."

He smiled and gently rubbed my stomach.

"Your daddy is waiting for you."

I couldn't help smiling.

Then he leaned closer.

"Please don't trouble your mommy too much, okay?"

I laughed softly.

"You're already teaching our baby."

"Of course."

Sometimes he would just lie there with his hand on my stomach.

And whenever the baby moved, his eyes would immediately light up.

"Jay!"

"What?"

"I felt it!"

I smiled.

"You did?"

He nodded excitedly.

"The baby moved."

He looked at my stomach again and smiled.

"Hi, baby."

I watched him quietly.

He looked so happy.

Everyone is happy...

Mom would make sure I rested properly, while Dad kept bringing me whatever food or fruits I wanted.

Even when I randomly mentioned something at night, Dad would remember it the next day.

And Kegain was always there to help too.

One day, I was trying to get something from the kitchen when he immediately came running.

"Ate, what are you doing?"

"I'm just getting something."

"I'll get it."

I smiled.

"Okay, bodyguard."

He rolled his eyes.

"I'm serious."

"I know."

He brought it to me and placed it on the table.

"There."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

He walked away, then suddenly turned around.

"And don't forget to rest!"

I laughed.

"Yes, sir."

The whole house had changed.

There were baby clothes in one room.

Baby toys were slowly filling the shelves.

Kaira and Kerein had already chosen some toys for their little sibling.

Kegain had started thinking about what he wanted to gift the baby.

And Keifer...

He talked to my stomach every night.

Sometimes he even fell asleep with his hand resting gently over it.

I looked at him one night while he was sleeping.

His face looked peaceful.

I placed my hand over his.

"We're really going to have a baby," I whispered.

He was still asleep, but his fingers moved slightly, holding my hand.

I smiled.

Our little family had already grown so much.

And soon...

There would be one more little person joining us.

Everyone was waiting.

Everyone was excited.

And I couldn't wait to finally hold our baby in my arms.
