Chapter 94 - Core fully formed.

The chamber was dead quiet.

Nobody was swapping out energy crystals anymore. The servants simply stood by the perimeter pillars, completely frozen as they watched the boy lying on the platform.

The raw, jagged cracks that had almost torn Shawn apart during the bloodline crisis had vanished, leaving his skin perfectly smooth.

But the white threads of World Energy hadn't stopped.

They continued diving straight into the center of Shawn's chest, just beneath his heart, disappearing into a single point.

Morgan leaned over the edge of the stone platform, placing two fingers against Shawn's pulse.

"The energy is no longer being absorbed into the body carelessly. It is concentrating itself beneath his ribs."

Boulder stepped beside him, narrowing his eyes at the glowing arrays.

" The boy had never awakened so the body was merely adapting itself to the new norm. Right now, a core is crystallizing

Morgan's jaw tightened.

He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, his knuckles turning white.

"If the crystallization fractures now, the entire body will shatter. Many years of labor will be undone."

"Then stand back and let it finish," Boulder said bluntly. "There is nothing we can do to alter the density now."

Deep within the darkness, Shawn held his breath.

The warmth beneath his heart continued to thicken, compressing until it felt like a heavy stone lodged between his lungs.

Every time another white thread entered his chest, the weight grew denser, settling more firmly into place.

His body handled the process on its own.

Then his hearing sharpened again.

The room around him suddenly became incredibly loud.

He could hear some strange whispers around the room. They were not from the people inside, but from something else

For a moment, a tinge of cold brushed across his skin.

Three hundred meters above the estate, the weather began to change.

The gray clouds that had stalled above the Vonte Manor gathered together, gradually darkening until they became a heavy blanket of bruised black that swallowed the midday sun.

It looked as though an enormous winter storm was about to descend upon the mountain.

On the outer ramparts, a Sovereign Manifest captain halted his patrol and looked toward the sky.

A chill ran across his skin.

A cold breeze brushed against the back of his neck.

It wasn't a gale.

It was only a thin, sharp current carrying the clean scent of melting ice against stone.

It neither lifted the dust nor rattled the shutters.

Instead, it drifted quietly through the courtyard, weaving between the stone pillars and the barracks.

Then another breeze followed.

Within minutes, the entire estate was wrapped in a slow, swirling current of cold air, all of it flowing toward the main manor.

The captain wasted no time.

"Broaden the perimeter," he ordered into his communication talisman. "Double the boundary lines. Activate the core shield around the estate immediately."

"Sir," a younger guard replied, "the primary array is already drawing maximum power."

"I do not care. Lock the mountain down. Whatever is happening inside that manor stays inside."

A massive pale blue dome groaned into existence above the estate, sealing the Vonte Manor completely away from the rest of the mountain.

The guards had no idea what was happening beneath their feet.

They simply assumed Morgan Vonte was attempting to break through a major cultivation bottleneck and required absolute isolation.

Far below, inside the laboratory, that same cold air began seeping through the floor.

One of the servants standing near the entrance shivered and glanced down at his boots.

"...Did the ventilation seal break?"

No one answered.

The draft flowed from the dark corridor beyond the doorway and slipped quietly into the chamber.

Morgan noticed it immediately.

His head snapped toward the massive reinforced iron doors.

"That is impossible," he said, his voice sharp with disbelief. "The outer seals are airtight. There should not be a draft through thirty feet of solid rock."

Yet the wind continued.

It drifted past Boulder, slipped around the perimeter pillars, and curled gently above the golden platform without triggering a single alarm array.

The silver runes carved into the floor didn't even flicker.

The air simply moved through the chamber as though the surrounding stone walls didn't exist.

More currents followed.

They arrived one after another, circling the platform in a slow, quiet ring around Shawn's body.

Unlike the white threads of World Energy, they didn't enter him.

They merely hovered inches above his skin, waiting.

Morgan's hand instinctively moved to the hilt at his waist, his expression growing increasingly tense.

"Grandmaster, the array logic is failing. Something outside is pulling the atmosphere straight through the formations."

"The arrays are not failing, Morgan," Boulder replied, his voice as calm as ever while watching the pale ring of air surrounding the boy.

"Look carefully."

"The wind isn't touching the servants."

"It isn't touching us."

"It is ignoring the room entirely."

Morgan focused more closely.

Boulder was right.

The currents paid no attention to anything else within the chamber.

They didn't disturb the dust on the floor or brush against the robes of those standing nearby.

They simply revolved in a silent vortex around Shawn.

Boulder's eyes never left the platform.

"The core has finished forming," he whispered.

" The boy is receiving what he deserves."

" And what might it be?" Morgan asked.

" An ability of Course."
