Chapter 421 - Chapter 421: Beam Clash

Chapter 421: Beam Clash

Five hundred colossal cannons — each one assembled from countless warships fused together — opening fire simultaneously produced a spectacle that genuinely deserved the phrase "the sky splitting, the earth breaking apart."

A raging tide of white-hot energy surged and rolled across space like an ocean storm, its blinding radiance rivaling that of a star's own light — a testament to just how much power those cannon barrels had actually been storing.

Had space carried sound the way air did, the sheer noise of all 500 cannons firing at once would've blown out countless eardrums outright.

Five hundred beams of dazzling white light, each moving at light-speed, converged in unison toward Ryū and the others.

Midway through their approach, all five hundred beams tangled together, merged, and fused into one single, unified beam — a full third of the moon's diameter across.

In that same razor-thin instant, the deep blue Ki blast Ryū had been gathering in his palms was already surging forward, unleashed.

The blast carried a genuinely terrifying density of power, doubling in diameter with every few dozen meters it traveled.

By the time its width matched the incoming white beam exactly, the two collided head-on, in the dim, radiation-soaked void of space — an unprecedented clash of raw power.

The two forces slammed together violently, and an unstoppable shockwave of energy exploded outward in every direction — a full 360-degree sphere of devastation, nothing left untouched.

The shockwave's expansion rivaled the speed of light itself, and its destructive force was absolute — several nearby Chitauri warships were instantly torn apart, reduced to drifting scrap.

Countless other Chitauri vessels, sensing something had gone catastrophically wrong, scrambled to reverse course and flee the blast radius — but no ship's maneuvering could possibly outpace the speed at which the energy itself was spreading.

Ship after ship burst apart like fireworks, blooming outward in brilliant, chaotic color.

That same shockwave surged onward, hurtling toward Earth itself. Seeing this, Tatsumaki activated her psychic power and drifted over beside Ryū.

Handling this particular problem fell naturally to her, given her abilities. She raised one pale, delicate hand, faint veins beginning to show along her forehead.

Her formidable telekinetic power erupted outward all at once, forcibly halting the entire onrushing tide of energy dead in its tracks.

She didn't just stop it, either — she shoved the whole wave straight back, driving it into the enemy fleet and inflicting a second wave of catastrophic devastation on top of the first.

Against combat on this scale, sheer numbers of warships meant nothing at all — just so much weed to be casually mowed down.

Saitama, who'd been standing beside the Ancient One only moments before, had already vanished. The warships themselves held no interest for him — he wanted the enemy's actual boss. So he simply pushed straight through the shockwave and leapt directly into the heart of the enemy fleet.

Saitama couldn't fly, as it happened — he'd simply jumped. His absurd physical strength let him clear that kind of distance in a single, near-instantaneous leap.

If this fight had rested purely on Ryū, Saitama, and Tatsumaki — three Tier 1 members alone — the alien forces might've bought themselves at least a little time.

But with the Ancient One's Tier 1 strength thrown into the mix too, the whole equation flipped entirely. The Chitauri army and Gongbieerzi's own forces had effectively become nothing more than weeds themselves, utterly unable to withstand the group's unstoppable, sweeping advance.

Tony Stark, fully suited up in his Iron Man armor, could only watch on in a state of complete bewilderment — he genuinely felt like a background extra in his own fight.

He'd quickly realized there wasn't really any way for him to actually contribute here. Take that last energy shockwave, for instance — if Tatsumaki hadn't intercepted and reversed it, he genuinely wasn't sure his own hard-built Mark whatever-number armor could've withstood it.

Would he have just been shredded apart like those alien warships, torn to pieces by pure energy?

Genuinely demoralizing, honestly.

Tony had shown up expecting to be a major help. Instead...

Well — might as well check if anyone in the group wanted to watch the fight live, at least.

His consciousness slipped into the Dimensional Chat Group, and he posted a message to everyone.

I'm Rolling In It: Admin and the others are fighting the enemy right now — the scale of this is genuinely terrifying. Anyone want a live feed? Uncle Tony can pop the group camera open and stream it, free of charge!

Crazy Diamond: Oh? Mr. Stark's going live? Obviously watching!

Crazy Diamond: A fight on this level doesn't come around often, honestly.

Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit: Wait, the group camera feature can actually livestream?

Wandering Little Planet: Sure can! Admin-sama's used it before, and Yukari-senpai too, if I remember right — nobody really uses it much anymore, probably because it's buried pretty deep in the menu.

I'm Rolling In It: Well, in that case, guess Uncle Tony will grudgingly open it up for everyone.

Street-Corner Illustrator: In, and — this feels weirdly close to one of those online livestreams. Only difference is you can't send gifts.

My True Form Is Cola: Whoa! Is this actually a space battle? What's that blinding light? Just watching through the screen is enough to make my heart race.

Master Roshi: Admin's trading Ki blasts with the enemy directly, isn't he? A blast that powerful could probably blow up ten Earths stacked together.

Crazy Diamond: Admin-sama's power really never stops being terrifying, does it!

Eternally Seventeen: Genuinely shocked... why is Admin-sama's strength this absurd?

Eternally Seventeen: Ugh, well, no need to panic — I've already got a solid grasp on Ki sensing myself. I'll catch up to him eventually.

Kaguya-sama: You can tell just from Yukari-nee's tone that deep down, she already knows she couldn't beat Admin-sama.

Kaguya-sama: I always kind of assumed you two were roughly evenly matched, honestly.

Eternally Seventeen: !!!

Eternally Seventeen: Ahem, purely your imagination. I never said any such thing. All in your head.

Eternally Seventeen: Damn it, how could I possibly be that far behind Admin-sama?

Terrible Tornado: Just pushing that shockwave back took real effort on my end — Admin's strength really is on another level, huh.
