Chapter 2 - One in a million

In his dreams he thought of that deep bog where he was born. A tadpole is one of a million and being one of that million is all that he had for him. That and he was more aware then his endless family. Not just of how they swam but why and how. Not just the principles of water movement but the very laws of kentic transfer.

Yet the smartest are often the dumbest as they are the only ones aware of how stupid they are. This horrible feeling of knowing how he lacked but not knowing what exactly was a persistent pain.

More horrible than any hunger or other survival instinct that drew him and so he desperately searched and examined his world.

At first he merely looked at how familes tail moved the water out of the way providing a counterforce propelling their bodies forward.

But why? Why when a force was exterted a counter force was applied? These questions were endless and so where their answers. Unfortunately his feeble mind could only hold so much. No he needed more. More knowledge more of what he lacked.

He delve deeper and deeper until he reached a limit and somthing miraculous happend. An energy more basic than anything else too give it name would be pointless as it already had far too many.

That energy was the water in the pond the rocks the mud and even himself but most people called it mana. It collolessd into his very soul as he claimed it for himself. All of sudden his tiny body that had only been growing for days was far too small for his newly established existence. The mana that had gathered and promoted his existence too another level now was immediately funneled into a natural process.

Yet like how a person cannot feel their nerves firing nor their brain secreting hormones the tadpole couldn't quite understand what was happing.

But one thing was clear that energy was crucial for him and it was draining very fast and at a similar rate so was his body. He leeped out of water as his mana formed his body into the best vessel possible forming a human child around the age of five with abyssal hair and unusual green eyes.
