Chapter 5 -  [Sticky Rice Cake Maker]!

"This is the [Sticky Rice Cake Maker]."

After inventing it, Arvin Locke clapped his hands lightly and said,

"Didn't you say you wanted to eat sticky rice cake? So I invented this machine."

Invention: [Sticky Rice Cake Maker]

Origin:Doraemon World — Future Technology Company

Many of the gadgets in Doraemon were invented by Future Technology Company and various famous scientists.

And as everyone knows, anything that can be sold openly on the market is usually within a controllable range.

"Invention? You're calling this thing that suddenly appeared a 'invention'??"

Uvogin's eyes bulged.

He wasn't completely ignorant—he knew what the word invention meant.

But…

He had never imagined an "invention" would look like this.

"Don't worry about the details."

Arvin Locke waved his hand.

"The important thing is that you'll have sticky rice cake to eat, right?"

"You've got a point…"

Uvogin subconsciously nodded—then paused.

This sudden "invention" had gone far beyond his ability to process, leaving him unsure how to judge it.

Instinctively, he glanced at Machi.

She was still staring fixedly at the Sticky Rice Cake Maker.

Well… since the kid had produced a machine like this, there probably wasn't any hidden scheme.

Uvogin could sense that after the machine appeared, the boy seemed to have become a little weaker.

"So how does this thing make sticky rice cake?"

Uvogin slapped the machine with his large hand, producing a dull thud.

"To make sticky rice cake, you obviously need glutinous rice."

Arvin Locke looked at him strangely.

"So you're telling me this useless thing can't just produce sticky rice cake out of thin air?"

In Uvogin's mind, the Sticky Rice Cake Maker immediately dropped to the level of scrap metal.

"I don't know how this machine works in the outside world, but if it still needs glutinous rice…"

Uvogin examined the machine from top to bottom.

"Forget glutinous rice—we don't even have the rotten husks of ordinary rice."

"But if we take this thing apart, the metal might fetch a decent price."

His eyes gleamed with excitement. This unexpected gain had clearly improved his mood.

He even turned back toward Arvin Locke with interest.

"How about it? Once we sell it, I'll give you a share of the profits… huh??"

He stared at the new object that had appeared in Arvin Locke's hands.

"What are those?!"

"Something used for planting glutinous rice."

"…Also invented by you?"

"What else?"

Arvin Locke said matter-of-factly,

"Without glutinous rice, we can't make sticky rice cake. So naturally we have to plant the rice first."

Plant… rice?

Uvogin felt like that sentence sounded extremely out of place in Meteor City.

In a place like Meteor City—

Since when did planting exist?!

And besides, planting crops normally took a very long time, didn't it?!

"What are you standing around for? Hurry up and plant the rice!"

Arvin Locke casually tossed a long green capsule toward Uvogin.

The latter fumbled and barely caught it.

"This is called [Seedlings in a Capsule]. It contains the raw materials needed to grow rice."

Before Uvogin could ask anything, Arvin Locke explained.

Then he casually took out another green cylindrical device.

He gently pulled the cord beneath it.

Whoosh—Boom.

A fiery red artificial sun shot upward and burst into the air.

Right before Uvogin and Machi's eyes—

It transformed into a small sun suspended above them.

This was the [Indoor Sun], used to help the seedlings grow.

Perhaps because this was his first time inventing these items, aside from the Sticky Rice Cake Maker, several extra supporting gadgets had also been produced along with it.

Pop.

Under the stunned gazes of Uvogin and Machi, Arvin Locke took out another item—

[Clouds in a Bottle].

He opened the bottle cap directly.

And most importantly—

"[Cloud Scarecrow], and…"

Arvin Locke spread out a damp-looking blueprint across the floor of the room.

"[Super Mini Rice Field]."

Inside this rice field, even the fertilizer had already been prepared.

"That should complete the initial setup~~~"

Arvin Locke wiped the sweat from his face and let out a small sigh of relief.

Inventing so many tools had surprised even him and consumed a significant amount of energy.

But after thinking about it, Uvogin's request had been for food—specifically sticky rice cake.

What he invented wasn't a machine that directly created sticky rice cakes from nothing.

Instead, the process required planting the rice, cultivating it, and then feeding it into the machine to produce the cakes.

Because the process now contained so many extra steps, the overall Nen cost became something he could actually afford.

"So if an invention directly achieves the final result, the consumption will be much higher…"

"But if it still requires manual steps in between, then the cost of invention becomes lower…"

Arvin Locke gained a deeper understanding of his ability.

"Still, even like this, the consumption isn't low."

"I'll have to figure out a way to use Restrictions and Vows to reduce the cost further…"
