Endless Chaos – Chaos Void Plane: The Path of Games

Chapter 4: Player vs Player

The battlefield stretched endlessly across the void.

Floating islands, glowing mountains, and rivers of chaotic energy formed a massive game board. Each landmass was divided into shining tiles that spread in every direction.

Above the battlefield, a cold system voice echoed.

Game Begins in 5…

The protagonist focused on the Infinite Board floating before him.

Across the battlefield stood the Second Player.

The figure looked calm and confident. Behind him floated a circular artifact that resembled a spinning disk filled with glowing symbols.

It was different from the Infinite Board.

Yet it radiated the same type of power.

A Chaos Game Artifact.

The stranger spoke first.

"You must be the new player the Game Lords noticed."

The protagonist remained silent.

He had no name yet.

But the stranger continued anyway.

"I've been playing for a long time. This will be a good match."

The system continued the countdown.

3…

2…

1…

GAME START

Immediately, both players activated their artifacts.

The Infinite Board expanded, projecting glowing grid lines across the entire battlefield.

But at the same moment—

The Second Player's artifact spun rapidly.

Symbols burst outward like waves.

Then he spoke calmly.

"Rule Created: Resource System."

Suddenly, glowing crystals appeared across the islands.

Hundreds of them.

They pulsed with chaotic energy.

The protagonist quickly understood.

Resources.

Energy that could be used to create units, traps, or structures.

The Second Player smiled faintly.

"You see… games become interesting when systems are layered."

The protagonist immediately reacted.

He focused on the Infinite Board.

Rule Created: Territory Control

The tiles beneath the battlefield began glowing in different colors.

Every tile now belonged to whoever controlled it.

The more territory a player captured…

The stronger their influence over the game.

The Second Player's eyes flickered with interest.

"Good."

"You understand the basics."

He raised his hand.

The crystals near him shattered into light.

From them, creatures emerged.

Six Void Soldiers appeared—smaller versions of the Void Spawn but more stable and controlled.

They immediately began marching across the tiles.

The protagonist felt pressure rising.

This opponent was far more experienced.

But the Path of Games was not about strength.

It was about strategy.

He scanned the battlefield through the Infinite Board.

Then he created his move.

Rule Created: Summon System

Several glowing tiles beneath him opened.

From the light emerged four Game Constructs—humanoid figures made of solid energy.

They stood silently like chess pieces waiting for orders.

Across the battlefield, the Second Player laughed softly.

"A strategy game…"

"Good choice."

The Void Soldiers and Game Constructs began moving across the grid.

Step by step.

Tile by tile.

Soon the first clash happened.

A Void Soldier attacked a construct.

Energy exploded across the battlefield.

The construct was destroyed instantly.

The protagonist realized something.

His units were weaker.

The Second Player had a better resource system.

The enemy player spoke again.

"You're inexperienced."

"But your rules are creative."

Then he activated another rule.

Rule Created: Evolution

The remaining Void Soldiers absorbed chaotic energy and grew larger.

Their power doubled instantly.

Now the battlefield heavily favored the Second Player.

But the protagonist didn't panic.

Instead, he studied the board.

He studied the enemy's rules.

And then he discovered a weakness.

The Resource System depended on the crystals.

Without them…

The enemy could not summon more soldiers.

The protagonist focused deeply.

The Infinite Board glowed intensely.

Then he created a new rule.

Rule Created: Resource Decay

Across the battlefield, the glowing crystals began cracking.

Energy slowly leaked out of them.

The Second Player's eyes widened slightly.

"…Interesting."

His resource supply was now slowly disappearing.

The game had changed.

Now it had become a race.

Whoever controlled the battlefield first…

Would win.

Far away in the endless darkness of the Chaos Void Plane, several ancient presences watched silently.

Massive beings known as Game Lords observed the match like spectators watching a cosmic tournament.

One of them spoke quietly.

"This new player…"

"His understanding of rules is extraordinary."

Another ancient voice replied.

"Yes."

"But this is only the beginning."

Back on the battlefield, the two players stared at each other across the glowing tiles.

The war of rules had just begun.

And the next move could decide everything.
