Long ago, in a small village, there lived a poor boy named Rahim. Rahim's family was very poor. His father was a day laborer and his mother worked in other people's houses. They lived in a small hut, and many times they did not even have enough food to eat.
Despite all the hardships, Rahim was very hardworking and honest. From a young age, he understood that being born poor was not his fault, but remaining poor for his whole life depended on him. So he dreamed of doing something great in the future.
Rahim studied at the village school. He did not have good books, notebooks, or nice clothes. Often he had to study with old books. Still, he studied with great dedication.
Every morning before going to school, he helped his father with work. Sometimes he worked in the fields, and sometimes he carried heavy things. After returning from school, he helped his mother with household chores. Then at night he sat down to study.
There was not enough light in their house. So many times Rahim studied under a street lamp. Cold wind, mosquitoes, and darkness could not stop him.
Many people in the village laughed at him. They said,
"This poor boy will never achieve anything in life."
But Rahim never felt discouraged by these words. Instead, he said to himself,
"One day I will prove to everyone that even a poor person can become successful."
One day at school, their teacher said something very important. He said,
"To become successful in life, three things are very important — hard work, honesty, and patience."
These words touched Rahim deeply. He decided that no matter what happened, he would work hard and achieve his dream.
After a few years, Rahim finished his schooling. Then he decided to go to the city, because he knew that achieving big dreams would be difficult if he stayed in the village.
In the city, he did not know anyone. The first few days were very difficult for him. He did not know where he would stay or what he would eat.
After trying many times, he finally got a job in a small shop. He had to work all day — cleaning the shop, arranging goods, and helping customers.
During the day he worked hard, and at night he continued his studies.
The shop owner was a kind man. He was very impressed by Rahim's honesty and hard work.
One day he called Rahim and said,
"You are a very honest and hardworking boy. If you want, I can teach you business."
Rahim happily agreed. Slowly he started learning many things about business — how to respect customers, how to save money, and how to run a business honestly.
After a few years, Rahim opened his own small shop. In the beginning, he did not make much profit. Sometimes he even faced losses. But he never gave up.
Every day he learned something new and tried to improve his work.
Gradually, his shop became popular. People started coming to his shop because he always did business honestly and treated customers kindly.
After some years, his small shop turned into a big shop. Then he opened several more shops. Eventually, Rahim became a successful businessman.
The same Rahim who was once very poor became the owner of millions of money.
But even after becoming rich, he never forgot his past.
He often remembered his village. So he returned to his village and built a school. He arranged education for poor students and gave jobs to many poor people.
The villagers were surprised and said,
"Is this the same poor Rahim?"
Rahim smiled and said,
"I was poor, but my dreams were never poor."
Seeing his life, everyone understood that with hard work, honesty, and patience, even a poor person can become successful.
