Chapter 15 - The Calm Before the Abyss

The battlefield finally fell silent.

The wind slowly drifted across the shattered land.

Mountains had collapsed.

Trees were burned to ash.

The battle between Arken and the Void Sovereign had left a deep wound upon the world.

Amid the destruction, Arken sat on a large rock.

His breathing was still heavy.

His sword was planted in the ground beside him.

Nearby, Lunaria stood while gazing at the sky.

The eclipse was slowly beginning to fade.

Yet a dark feeling still lingered in the air.

Arken finally spoke.

"He retreated."

Lunaria nodded slowly.

"But not because we won."

Arken looked at his hand.

The Eclipse energy that had once been so powerful was now almost gone.

"That attack… might have only been enough to wound him."

Lunaria closed her eyes.

Eclipse Vision tried to see the future again.

But what she saw made her heart race.

Cities burning.

Void armies descending from the sky.

The world trapped in a great war.

Lunaria opened her eyes quickly.

"Arken."

"What is it?"

"He won't attack us directly anymore."

Arken frowned.

"Then what?"

Lunaria clenched her hand.

"He will destroy the world we protect."

The wind suddenly blew stronger.

As if the world itself sensed the coming threat.

Arken slowly stood.

Even though his body was still covered in wounds.

"Then we need to prepare."

Lunaria looked at him.

"For what?"

Arken pulled his sword from the ground.

A faint shadow light still glowed along the blade.

"For war."

Far away in the Void dimension…

A black throne stood in the middle of emptiness.

Seated upon it was the Void Sovereign.

The cracks in his body were slowly healing.

But his eyes were filled with fury.

Standing before him were three massive figures.

The Void Generals.

Creatures whose power far surpassed ordinary Void soldiers.

The Void Sovereign stood.

"Arken and Lunaria have become a threat."

He walked slowly.

"If we cannot destroy them directly…"

He raised his hand.

A gigantic Void portal opened.

Revealing the human world.

Cities.

Kingdoms.

And millions of people who had no idea what was about to happen.

The Void Sovereign smiled coldly.

"Then…"

"Burn their world."

The Void Generals knelt.

"Your command is received."

Void portals began opening across the world.

And the great war had finally begin.
