Chapter 4 - Becoming a Farmer [1]

In this world the strong make the rules and no one can go against it.

If a high ranking Farmer bullies a low ranking Farmer, the low ranking Farmer can't do anything but stare, because if they try a thing their heads would be cut off.

While it is forbidden for Framers to fight each other; a rule also made by the strongest, this doesn't apply in the Abyss.

Accidents can happen, and in the Abyss a lot of accidents happen.

If a Farmer is to be killed by another Farmer in the real world, such a Framer would face legal justice.

However, in the Abyss where justice or morals are worthless, many things can happen. While there are dangerous monsters in the Abyss, there are also dangerous Farmers too.

And Reynold is one of them.

Even if they are seen as heroes of humanity, there are also those with hidden dark motives, even creating secret organizations to act.

Everyone knows this much and the rules are followed where it is to be, but where it is not, many things happen.

"The Abyss…"

Aegon stood in the center of Maureen's bedroom with an expression of hatred.

He clutched his fist hard as the thought of the only place where evil could be carried out:

"That is the only place where he could have taken her. And if he's daring me… it means that's the place he's going."

"But to enter the Abyss I have to undergo a Talent Awakening…"

The words slipped out of Aegon's lips and entered his ears, sinking down to his heart where all his rage was gathered.

He thought of the moment when his sister had warned him from entering the Abyss; it crossed his mind.

'It is a dangerous place.' she said.

But now she had been taken in there, was he just going to stand and wait? Or was he going to take action?

Aegon knew what he had to do, even if it meant going against his sister's order.

Without any time to waste he left the building and made his way to the Farmers Association.

"-_-"

In the center of the Xemburg City, in a place that looked like downtown, but wasn't downtown as such a term wasn't used in this world.

In the center of the city stood a large building, probably the most futuristic and tallest building in the entire city, stretching around 928 meters or 3044.62 feet.

Around the building was a circular ring skyscraper that floats 550 meters or 1804.46 feet above the city, the entire structure stretched three kilometers in diameter wrapping around the building like a halo.

The ring is supported by five massive vertical towers each nearly as tall as a super tall skyscraper able to house people. It was both futuristic and magical.

This was the Farmer Association building.

No matter where one was in the city, they could see this building.

Aegon arrived at the foot of the building and was shocked at how tall it was.

He raised his head and could see the building in the center; so long that it stretched into the sky that it could no longer be seen.

"This is the Framer Association?"

At the ground of the building in front of what looked like a garden with a waterfall, there was a three dimensional signage written; Farmer Association.

"This is where I would become a Farmer…"

This building was very fancy, too fancy. If it was back on earth, it would have been a tourist attraction and the country that built it would make a lot of cash with it.

Aegon thought of this, and in his heart he knew that modern earth hadn't come close to achieving such a futuristic building, although there were certain countries capable of building it, it would take them years to complete.

However, Xemburg City built it in under three years, if not half.

"It makes sense that it is in the center, that way navigation would be easy."

Aegon stared at the entrance of the building, people were coming in and going out from it.

Unlike the old school dressing people wore when he first transmigrated, this was much more casual; like modern earth.

"Are they also Farmers?"

Ir is true that those who come here are all Farmers or Farmers to be. However, not everyone who worked here was a Framer.

Although they would have to be awakened to work, which is a criteria that most jobs now ask off before hiring.

After gazing for a while, Aegon made his way into the Farmer Association building.

Inside the building, there were a lot of people in different clothes. There were those who dressed like knights, mages, and most just wore casual wear.

In the early times if one was to wear a dress looking like a knight or mage when it wasn't Halloween, they might be stared at weirdly.

However, times were different now. Farmers wear the clothes that are fitting to their way of nature as a Framer with talents.

A couple steps from the entrance of the building, there was a counter with five different ladies behind it.

These ladies were the ones who attended to those who wanted to register as a Farmer or those looking to have their Talent Awakening.

Although they register and conduct Talent Awakening for people, these ladies also assign missions to Framers, but such missions are never massive in profit.

Looking at the counter, Aegon knew that was where he was to go, as out of the five ladies one was free and she was looking directly at his way.

Seeing this, Aegon quickly approached the lady who had a smile on her face. Amongst all the ladies here, she was the only one carrying a heartfelt expression.

"Um… good day I would like to…"

Before Aegon could finish his sentence, the lady cut him cut and asking suddenly:

"You would like to register as a Framer?"

"Eh… yh, how did you know that?" Aegon asked.

The lady smiled deeply and responded:

"Well, every person who walks in here comes to either register as a Framer or to take missions and I know the majority. But you, I haven't seen before and therefore guessed right."

Aegon nodded his head slightly agreeing with the lady, although he had an expressionless face.

"Okay, what is your talent?" The lady asked kindly, as she began searching for something while waiting for a response.

However, not hearing a quick one she raised her head and the words left Aegon's lips.

"Talent?"

Hearing this question, the lady add added:

"Yes, I assume you've had a talent awakening considering your age, so I just need to know the name so I can rank it."

Aegon stood blankly as he thought it through, from the time he woke up until this very moment, he hadn't seen anything like a talent.

There was none and so he said:

"I don't have any…"

Upon hearing this, the lady was speechless for a second, her eyes wide, as her entire expression was displayed with shock as the words came out:

"What, you don't have a Talent?…"
