Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Fracture in the Star Stream

The sky was breaking.

Not metaphorically.

Actually breaking.

Kim Dokja stared upward as the massive rift above Seoul widened, exposing layers of the Star Stream that normal incarnations were never meant to see. Streams of glowing probability flowed through the heavens like rivers of code, constellations flickering wildly as administrators struggled to stabilize the narrative.

"…Wow," Dokja muttered.

He adjusted his glasses slowly.

"They really did break the system."

Yoo Joonghyuk stood at the edge of the rooftop garden, sword still glowing with golden stigma energy. His breathing was steady, but the battlefield around them had changed completely.

The Narrative Guardian was still standing.

Barely.

Massive vines wrapped around its limbs like chains, thick roots pinning its legs into the shattered streets below. Cracks of golden light from Yoo Joonghyuk's earlier strikes ran across its cosmic armor.

It struggled.

But it could not move.

Persephone stepped forward calmly through the garden.

Flowers bloomed beneath each step.

The air smelled like spring in the middle of an apocalypse.

Above them, the administrator's voice echoed again.

But now it sounded different.

Strained.

"ANOMALY CONTINUES TO CORRUPT NARRATIVE STRUCTURE."

Dokja tilted his head.

"Corrupt is a strong word."

Persephone looked up at the shattered sky.

"I prefer the word grow."

The vines responded instantly.

Across the district, plants erupted from cracks in the pavement. Green life burst from the broken city like an unstoppable tide.

Balconies sprouted flowers.

Streetlights tangled in creeping ivy.

Entire buildings began transforming into living structures.

Yoo Joonghyuk noticed immediately.

"You are spreading beyond the battlefield."

"Yes."

"That will destabilize the entire district."

"Yes."

Her calm answers were deeply unhelpful.

Dokja sighed.

"Well… the administrators did ask for a narrative correction."

Above them, the Star Stream flared violently.

A new system message appeared.

[Administrator Intervention: Maximum Authority]

Dokja's stomach dropped.

"…Oh."

Yoo Joonghyuk glanced sideways.

"What now?"

"That's the highest level they can deploy without rewriting the entire world."

The sky shifted again.

But this time—

Something new appeared.

Not another guardian.

Not another scenario construct.

Three enormous figures began forming within the fractured heavens.

Massive silhouettes made of constellations and cosmic geometry.

Administrators.

Not avatars.

Actual administrator projections.

Dokja groaned loudly.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me."

The system windows flooded the air.

[Administrator "Architect of the Cosmos" has manifested.]

[Administrator "Curator of Probability" has manifested.]

[Administrator "Warden of Narrative Boundaries" has manifested.]

Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes narrowed.

"…Three."

"Yes," Dokja said quietly.

"That's extremely unfair."

Persephone looked up at them calmly.

The vines around the city continued growing.

"More observers."

"They're not observers," Dokja said.

"They're executioners."

The administrators spoke together.

Their voices layered across the sky like thunder.

"FOREIGN ENTITY."

"YOU HAVE DESTABILIZED MULTIPLE NARRATIVE THREADS."

"YOU WILL BE REMOVED."

Persephone crossed her arms slightly.

"That seems dramatic."

The Warden of Narrative Boundaries raised a massive hand.

Reality bent around it.

The entire district shuddered as invisible forces tried to compress Persephone's presence into nothing.

Dokja staggered slightly under the pressure.

"…Okay yeah that's administrator-level erasure."

The vines around Persephone immediately reacted.

They thickened.

Roots dug deeper into the earth.

Flowers bloomed brighter.

The pressure stopped.

The administrator paused.

Persephone tilted her head.

"You are trying to remove me from the story."

"CORRECT."

"Why?"

"YOU DO NOT BELONG."

She smiled faintly.

"I disagree."

The vines surged again.

Across the city, green life exploded outward.

The administrators reacted instantly.

Streams of probability energy shot down from the sky like lightning.

They struck the spreading garden.

Explosions of light tore through entire streets.

But the plants kept growing.

Dokja blinked.

"…Okay that's insane."

Yoo Joonghyuk stepped forward again.

His sword rose.

"You cannot fight them alone."

Persephone looked at him.

"I know."

The regressor launched forward.

Golden energy flared across the battlefield as he struck the bound Narrative Guardian again.

The blade cut deep.

The giant cosmic entity finally collapsed.

Its body shattered into fragments of fading constellations.

The system windows flickered wildly.

[Narrative Guardian Destroyed]

The constellations watching the battle erupted into chaos.

But the administrators did not react with surprise.

They simply spoke again.

"IRRELEVANT."

One of them raised its hand.

The sky cracked again.

A massive wave of narrative energy began descending toward the entire district.

Dokja's eyes widened.

"…That's not targeting Persephone."

Yoo Joonghyuk looked up.

"What is it?"

Dokja swallowed.

"They're resetting the entire area."

The wave expanded.

A glowing dome of probability meant to erase everything inside it.

Buildings.

Incarnations.

Stories.

All of it.

Persephone looked up at the descending force.

For the first time—

Her expression changed slightly.

Not fear.

But interest.

"So that is their final answer."

Dokja laughed nervously.

"Yep."

Yoo Joonghyuk raised his sword again.

"That will destroy everyone."

"Yes."

Persephone looked around the city.

At the spreading garden.

At the broken streets.

At the frightened incarnations watching from below.

Then she sighed softly.

"That is unfortunate."

The vines beneath her feet exploded outward.

The entire district answered her call.

Forests erupted from the streets.

Trees burst through rooftops.

The garden became a living continent of green.

Dokja stared in disbelief.

"…You're expanding the domain."

"Yes."

The massive wave of administrator power descended.

And Persephone raised her hand toward the sky.

"Then let us see," she said quietly,

"whether the story can survive a garden."

The two forces collided.

And the Star Stream finally realized something terrifying.

The anomaly they were trying to erase—

Was becoming a myth. 🌑⚔️🌸📖
