Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Simple Dragon King

Huo Yuhao was currently caught in a brainstorm.

However, in the next moment, a waft of delicate fragrance hit his nose. The pure elemental aura caused Huo Yuhao to subconsciously widen his eyes, only to see a face nearly touching his own.

So... small.

This was Huo Yuhao's first impression of this Co-lord of Soul Beasts.

The silver-haired girl stood gracefully; her long silver hair fell naturally over her shoulders. Judging solely by her appearance, she looked to be at most a year or two older than him.

At this moment, the girl's amethyst-like eyes held undisguised curiosity and doubt.

She was very, very close; her exquisite, small nose almost brushed against his face. But a moment later, her nose twitched slightly, and a flicker of confusion and bewilderment flashed through her eyes.

She stared intently at Huo Yuhao, a certain meaning surfacing in her gaze. Her lips moved slightly, letting out a murmur:

"So fragrant..."

Huo Yuhao: ????

Wait, sister?

How did I suddenly become "fragrant"?!

Huo Yuhao shut his mouth, momentarily at a loss for words.

However, the girl in front of him watched him without any reservation, her purple eyes shimmering slightly with light, as if she wanted to examine him thoroughly from the inside out.

The atmosphere grew slightly silent.

After a long while, Huo Yuhao, who after all still possessed some sense of shame, broke down. He shifted back slightly and then spoke with a calm expression:

"May I ask what business Senior has here?"

The girl frowned slightly, seemingly dissatisfied by Huo Yuhao's retreat. She blinked, hesitated, and then spoke:

"This Seat is merely taking a casual stroll."

The corners of Huo Yuhao's mouth twitched slightly.

Lying should at least follow the basic laws of logic, right? You literally crossed through space to reach my room and then locked onto me... and you call this a "casual stroll"?

Huo Yuhao felt a strange urge to complain, but he suppressed the thought and continued to ask: "Then, does Senior wish to continue strolling?"

The girl fell silent, then nodded.

Huo Yuhao fell silent.

Huo Yuhao was baffled.

Huo Yuhao slowly typed out a "?" in his mind.

So, this means... she's not leaving?

...

Morning.

Huo Yuhao slowly opened his eyes. The brilliant gold within them gradually retracted, adding a bit more spirit to his deep blue eyes.

Feeling the soul power in his body, which had already risen to Level 3, Huo Yuhao's expression became a bit strange.

He had originally been worrying about how to quickly accumulate negative emotions to advance to Level 10 and find Brother Skydream and Elder Yi, but now, it seemed that wouldn't be necessary?

Sitting on the floor, Huo Yuhao hesitated, shifting his gaze toward the girl who had just returned from outside.

He saw the girl sitting to the side holding a book, her exquisite little feet swinging back and forth.

Looking at the girl's completely unguarded state, Huo Yuhao didn't know how to react.

Naturally, nothing happened last night. After communicating with Huo Yuhao, this Co-lord of Soul Beasts had vanished.

A Co-lord of Soul Beasts—who was very likely a First-rank God—had developed a series of positive emotions like curiosity and interest toward Huo Yuhao. Although these weren't as abundant as the emotions provided by that Duchess, they were far purer.

The Seed of Emotion absorbed these positive emotions and directly fed back into him, raising his level by three ranks.

One must remember, he had only awakened his martial soul four days ago, and it was an innate Level 1 soul power awakening!

At this rate, if this Co-lord of Soul Beasts kept generating emotions toward him, he might actually reach Level 10 before reaching Shrek City!

When that time came, he could perhaps head directly to the Star Constellation Great Forest!

So... my focus should be placed on her? Huo Yuhao blinked and looked at the girl nearby again.

The girl seemed to sense his gaze; she lifted those purple eyes, blinked, and gave him a puzzled look.

"It's nothing..." Huo Yuhao said.

The girl frowned slightly, said nothing, and moved her gaze back to her book.

Hmm... the Seed of Emotion just plucked another wisp of confusion from her.

This method was definitely feasible!

Just as he was about to speak, a knock sounded at the door, and his mother's voice suddenly rang out:

"Yuhao, are you awake? If you are, I'm coming in."

"Okay, Mother!"

Huo Yuhao answered subconsciously, but before the words had fully left his mouth, he remembered he wasn't alone in the room!

"Wait—"

"What is it, Yuhao?"

Huo Yun'er pushed the door open, carrying a freshly bought breakfast in her hand, looking ready to share it with her son with a smile.

Huo Yuhao hurriedly looked to the side, but the girl had already vanished without a trace.

Gone...

"What's wrong, Yuhao?"

"...It's nothing, Mother. I just practiced all night and I'm a bit tired."

"I see... then I won't disturb your rest. Here is breakfast, eat it while it's hot, Yuhao!"

Huo Yun'er said, then closed the door.

Watching the door close, Huo Yuhao breathed a slight sigh of relief and then looked toward the girl who had reappeared.

"Senior..."

He looked at the culprit, but the culprit seemed to have caught onto something. She quickly put down her book, came to the table, opened the breakfast, and gave it a gentle sniff. After determining it wasn't dangerous, she took a tentative bite.

In the next moment, her eyes lit up.

Delicious!

It was hard to imagine a cold, beautiful girl now gobbling up a bun without any regard for her image. The scene left Huo Yuhao at a loss for words.

The breakfast was quickly devoured by the girl. Looking at the empty table, the girl hesitated for a moment, her expression returning to its cold state.

"Wipe your mouth."

Huo Yuhao stood up, pulled out a tissue, and handed it to the girl. She hesitated but took it and wiped the grease from the corner of her mouth.

Why does this Co-lord of Soul Beasts feel even simpler than Qiu'er? After Qiu'er transformed, she at least knew some basic information about the human world.

Yet this Co-lord of Soul Beasts seemed to know nothing...

"Has Senior never tried these foods before?"

The girl was silent, then shook her head.

Her past mostly consisted of slumber upon slumber. Her occasional awakenings were merely to receive information about the outside world from Di Tian before falling back into sleep.

After all, her injuries were too severe; she could only recover slowly through deep sleep.

So in essence, while she knew some of the rules of the outside world, they only existed in her memory and had never been practically verified.

If it weren't for the Planar Will suddenly using ten thousand years of accumulated Providence to construct a Providence Barrier to wrap around the entire Douluo World, she would never have left the Lake of Life in the Star Constellation Great Forest.

After all, the gaze of the God Realm occasionally cast down upon the Douluo World. If she were discovered, she might face a siege by the God Kings.
