Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

After killing the dungeon boss, a blue-and-white portal suddenly appeared before Kayado.

For a moment, he hesitated, staring into the swirling light. Thoughts of changing his life filled his mind. With a small spark of hope, he stepped through the portal.

When he emerged, he was back in the overworld.

His first decision was simple—sell the boss monster's body.

With that thought, he soon arrived at the gate of the Auction House. Taking a deep breath, he entered.

"I want to sell a D-Rank monster body," he said to a female employee near the counter.

The woman turned and looked him up and down. His clothes were worn and dusty from the dungeon.

"We don't accept low-rank monsters like goblins," she said coldly. "Especially just one. Now get out."

Kayado's expression hardened. Anger flickered in his eyes, but he ignored her and continued walking inside, searching for someone with authority.

Behind him, the woman shouted,

"Hey! You scumbag! How did trash like you even enter this place? Get out!"

Kayado stopped briefly and replied coldly,

"Shut up. Just get out of my way. I'll find another employee."

"You think anyone here will even pay attention to you?" she sneered.

Ignoring her completely, he walked further inside.

Another employee approached him—a different woman, but her expression was calm and professional.

"Sir, how may I help you? Are you here to sell something?"

"Yes," Kayado replied. "A D-Rank monster."

"Please come with me to the VIP room," she said politely. "I'll call our owner."

Just then the rude employee rushed over.

"Sis, he's lying! Look at his clothes. How could trash like him kill a D-Rank monster?"

The second employee frowned.

"Sis, please don't judge people by their appearance."

Ignoring the complaints, she escorted Kayado to the VIP room and contacted the owner.

A few minutes later, the owner arrived.

"I heard you have a D-Rank monster body," the owner said. "May I see it?"

Kayado nodded.

"If you prefer, I can send a team to retrieve it."

Kayado then opened his system storage and pulled out the monster's body.

The owner stared in shock.

"You seem to be a magician," he said slowly, "but I've never seen this kind of magic before."

"You could say I'm a special magician," Kayado replied casually.

The owner carefully inspected the monster.

His eyes widened.

"This… this is a Peak D-Rank monster!"

He immediately stood up.

"I'll pay 100 million for it. That's the best market price. Please sell it to us."

He even extended his hand nervously.

"And from now on, please sell all your hunted monsters here. I would be very grateful."

Kayado thought for a moment.

"Alright. But don't leak my information to anyone."

After the payment was completed, they left the VIP room.

The owner turned to the kind employee.

"You did an excellent job bringing this hunter to us. I'm promoting you."

Hearing this, the rude employee panicked.

Damn it… I lost the opportunity.

She quickly stepped forward.

"Sir! I was actually the first one who spoke to him!"

Kayado looked at her coldly.

"Mister," he said to the owner, "I want you to fire her. She behaved very badly toward me."

The owner hesitated for only a moment.

Then he immediately dismissed the woman.

Ignoring her protests, the owner personally escorted Kayado out.

After leaving the Auction House, Kayado checked the amount in his bank account.

For the first time in his life, he had real money.

The first thing he did was buy proper clothes so he would no longer be judged by his appearance.

Then he bought food and clothes for his family.

When he finally returned home, his grandmother was waiting.

She smiled warmly when she saw him.

Even though Kayado was only an F-Rank hunter, his family had always supported him.

To them, ranks were just letters.

He handed some meat to his grandmother.

"You shouldn't spend money on things like this," she scolded gently. "You need to save for yourself."

"It's fine," Kayado said with a smile. "I earned extra money today."

Then she noticed the bags in his hands.

"What's that?"

"Clothes," he said. "For me… and for you."

She tried to scold him again, but he simply laughed.

"Where's Xiawei?"

"She's in her room studying. She has an exam tomorrow."

Kayado walked to her room and knocked.

When he entered, Xiawei looked up from her books.

He handed her the clothes.

"Why did you buy this?" she asked. "Are you a millionaire now?"

Kayado smiled.

"Yeah. I am."

She laughed, thinking he was joking, and returned to studying.

After that, Kayado took a shower and lay down on his bed.

Staring at the ceiling, his eyes filled with determination.

"I'll show them," he whispered.

"Why you should never treat a prodigy badly… even when he's at his lowest."
