Chapter 2 - 001

When I was younger. I yearned to find my family. It would be like in movies... where I'm met with a big warm hug, kisses, and so much love.

And yet that day never came...

So I stopped dreaming and focused on living my life. The orphanage in which I grew up did not give me too much to complain about. I had food, shelter, and so many brothers and sisters. It was hard to ever feel lonely.

The day I had to leave, once I turned 18 was one of the hardest days imaginable. I knew the day was coming but the loneliness was unimaginable.

With the help of social services, I was able to find a small apartment to rent and a temporary part time job at an Internet cafe near my college. They didn't pay much but it was near where I went to school and I got free food and computer access to do my school work. Not to mention all the video games I got to play in my free time.

You could say I was comfortable with my life... Maybe way too comfortable... Which is why destiny came knocking at my door in the form of a man dressed as a men in black. For a second there I thought I was being recruit or something for my amazing game shooting skills but he comes and asks instead,

"Are you Olivia Dennings?"

And unlike most intelligent people, I said yes. I didn't know they were just going to abduct me after that, otherwise I would have just shut the door on his face.

I'm not sure Chloroform has a smell. If it does, I really wasn't paying attention or it could be that my stuffy nose was getting in the way. Irregardless it had to be that because when I finally woke up, I was in a princess like bed with canopies and everything.

Blinking a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming I sit up and I almost believed I had died and gone to heaven.

The aura was insane. The decor in the room was majestic and luxurious. Silver adorned the furniture and together with the light coming from outside, seemed to create a gentle and subtle lighting effect that radiated the room in a white color. The light seemed to reflect onto the chandelier glass and in some parts of the room, I could the rainbow from the refracted light.

You get it, it was breathtaking.

And so now after having woken up in paradise, I was guided down from the room to the living room to meet my parents.

And so it was a little disappointing when I don't receive the hugs and kisses I was envisioning. They weren't mean though- just polite. It's almost like we were strangers- because we were.

Mr and Mrs. Walmer.

I had heard of them before. They are generationally rich. So so so rich. And upon realizing that, I internally screamed in joy.

"I'LL FINALLY LIVE A FREE AND CAREFREE LIFE!!! NO WORK, NO STRESS!!!"
