Alec finally opened his eyes and he realized he was lying down on the bed, he laid still for a moment still trying to process what had happened.
"Had it all been a dream?" He thought to himself and then he smiled, "It was obviously a dream, I mean there was no way a book would glow and his room turned upside down."
"That's right he must have dreamt about the book because he fell asleep while reading" He stood up from the bed shaking his head while laughing at himself for having such a silly dream.
The he looked round the room, this definitely was not his room, what the hell was happening. Fear suddenly starts building up inside him.
He looked around the strange room he just woke up in still confused and not knowing what to make of it, he hears a knock on the door and the door suddenly opens
He hides in a corner in a corner in fear but then a little girl of about 4 years old comes inside room
"Daddy, mother said I should let you know breakfast is ready" She said excitedly and hurries back out
"What the actual fuck!" Alec screams to himself, "am I still dreaming"
"Where the hell am I, and what is this place?
He quickly follows the young girl outside to the living room
He sees a beautiful woman setting up the table, she looks up at him smiling
"You've finally woken up, honey, you slept longer than usual today"
"Who are you? where am I" Alec asked her
"I don't understand my love, what do you mean? she moves closer to him but he pulls back
"Stay away from me!" he yelled and she retreats looking shocked
"Is everything okay with you"? She asked him now looking very worried
He moves back to create more space between him and the strange woman and child who was now clinging to her mother in fear
He knocks down a picture and he looks at it to see a wedding picture of him and the woman and he screams and runs out of the house.
And he is shocked by what he sees
It is clearly his city but it was in ruins now and single houses just stood far from each other.
His head starts to get heavy and his eyes begin to spin and he fell to the ground.
He did not know how long he was asleep for but when he opened his eye again he was back on the bed and the woman and child were beside him
She had place a wet towel on his forehead
"Are you okay?" She asked him as soon as he opened his eyes
"Who are you?" He asked her slowly resigning himself to fate
"I am your wife" She responded angrily, "what is wrong with you today
"Where am I ? what is this place?"
"I honestly do not know what is wrong with you, ever since you got back from the knight tryout yesterday you haven't been yourself"
"I am really not who you think I am" He said trying to convince her but just then there was a rumbling
"Not again she screamed scooping up her little daughter in her arms as she stood up in a hurry. She stops at the door, we need to hurry out of here if we must remain alive, whoever you are" And she dashes out
He stands up in fear and follows her out, Military jets are seen flying around as military trucks are heard outside, she rushes round the house gathering what little she could fit into her bag
He was still trying to make sense of what was going on, everything was happing just then the door burst open and soldiers enter the house.
"You guys need to vacate now, gather what little you can and I will be back to take you to the refuge camp" One of the soldier said as he left almost as fast as he got in but Alec rushed to get a hold of him
"What is going on" Alec asked looking more confused than ever
"The Cryovores are erupting here and this entire area has been marked unsafe" Before Alec could ask more questions he rushed out
Alec rushed outside too and the entire place was suddenly filled with Military personnel, and he saw what looked like a sealed volcano but it was made completely of ice.
As he stood there still shocked A woman with long blond hair caring a really gun like weapon that looked too heavy for her fragile frame walks up to him
"Aerion right?" She asked as she got closer to him
"Does she recognize me" he asked himself, "Alec" he corrected her
She fliped the gun and rested it on her shoulder like it was nothing and with her other free hand she brought out a hand-held scanner and proceeded to scan him
"Name: Aerion Longhart, Age: 28years old, Married with a daughter," She read out of the scanner, "Yeah that is defintely you alright, I don't understand why you would lie about your name but yesterday you applied to join the Frost guards and eventually become a Frost-Knight and your are in luck because we need all the hands we can get," "That' she said pointing to the ice volcano is our biggest one yet."
Alec just stared at her too stunned to speak
"Captain Zayne! she called out to another captain who ran to meet her, "Take him to join the new recruits" she added and left
"Hi" Zayne said smiling at him, "this way"
As Zayne walked him to a van filled with similar guys like he saw another soldier carry his mysterious wife and kids to another waiting van, her eyes never left his and he heard a voice in his head "Dainia" and suddenlly memories that did not belong to him started filling his head, he saw himself laughing with her, he saw, their wedding , he saw the childbirth, he saw when the news about the Cryovores first broke and what had happened. He held his head in pain and screamed.
What were this memories, whose memories where this, Zayne rushed to his side as he screamed again and he helped to stabilize him. But the memories kept rushing in and he could not bear them anymore and he fell face down.
When he opened his eyes he was back in his apartment.
