Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Old Perv Hiruzen Sarutobi

Hidden in the shadows, Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the corpses scattered across the ground and silently praised him.

First time killing, yet he shows no discomfort. And the longer the fight goes on, the fiercer he becomes. This kid really is a natural-born ninja.

The first time I killed someone, I vomited for ages. Some people are just naturally better… truly infuriating. The new generation really does surpass the old.

On the battlefield, the three Genin leaders instantly lost their nerve when they heard the words "Konoha ninja."

The reputation of the Ninja World's top village was no joke. If they offended Konoha Village, they would probably have to flee the Land of Fire forever.

However, when they heard the rest of the sentence, their fighting spirit surged again.

"Damn it! If we surrender, we die. If we don't surrender, we still die. Brothers, let's fight him with everything we've got!"

With that, they charged toward Isamu.

A chaotic melee erupted.

As the saying goes, two fists are no match for four hands. Dealing with ordinary people was easy, but against the coordinated attacks of three Genin, Isamu quickly began to fall into a disadvantage.

Damn it… miscalculated.

I shouldn't have provoked them. I should've left them a little hope. These three are going all out—trading wounds for wounds.

Good thing the Sharingan is active, otherwise I wouldn't be able to dodge those fatal attacks.

Looking at the wounds covering his body, Isamu secretly felt relieved.

Good thing I drank that Water of Life earlier and strengthened my physique. Otherwise I'd probably be finished already.

This can't continue.

The small fry don't matter, but these three Genin… I need to eliminate one of them first and completely tilt the battle in my favor.

Amid the chaotic fight, Isamu suddenly appeared right in front of the Third Boss.

Seeing Isamu suddenly appear, the Third Boss didn't hesitate and thrust his kunai straight forward.

"Kid, go to hell!"

When he saw Isamu's shocked expression after being stabbed, the Third Boss froze for a moment—then burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! Little brat, you finally fell into my hands! Let's see how arrogant you are now!"

But the shock on Isamu's face disappeared instantly.

A cold smile appeared instead.

"You're celebrating too early."

"What?!"

Before the Third Boss could react, Isamu's body suddenly dissolved into a flock of crows that scattered in every direction.

The crows quickly gathered again beside him, reforming into Isamu.

"What kind of Ninjutsu is this?! I clearly stabbed him! How could—"

A technique from the future—something no one in this era had ever seen.

With his two-tomoe Sharingan spinning in his eyes, Isamu drove his kunai straight toward the Third Boss.

"Third Brother, watch out!"

"Third Brother, watch out!"

Hearing the shouts of the First and Second Boss, the Third Boss froze for a split second. Just as he turned his head—

Thud.

A black kunai pierced straight through his heart.

The Third Boss stared at Isamu in disbelief. Blood spilled from his mouth as he spoke weakly.

"Thi… this… impossible…"

Then he collapsed to the ground.

Looking down at the corpse, Isamu spoke calmly.

"You didn't lose unfairly. Dying to a technique created by someone like Itachi-sama… you got your money's worth."

The rest of the battle became almost completely one-sided.

With one man down, the two remaining bandit leaders were no longer a match for Isamu.

Half an hour later—

[Ding! Congratulations, host, on completing the mission. Reward: 5,000 points.]

After knocking aside the last ordinary bandit and hearing the system's notification, Isamu knew the mission was complete.

He severed the heads of the three Genin and walked out of the mountain stronghold.

Two minutes later, Hiruzen Sarutobi appeared before him.

Seeing Isamu sitting exhausted at the entrance of the stronghold, with the three Genin heads placed beside him, he spoke.

"Well done, Isamu. Congratulations on completing your first B-rank mission."

"Forget it," Isamu said tiredly. "It's already good enough that I didn't fail miserably. Here—these are the three Genin heads. I don't even have the strength to walk right now. Let me rest for a bit."

Hiruzen took the heads and looked at him with a strange expression.

"Isamu, don't tell me you don't know? Aside from rogue ninja whose bodies we retrieve, only the underground black market deals in heads. For wandering ninja like these, we usually don't bother collecting them."

"Is that so? I really didn't know," Isamu replied honestly.

He had taken the heads simply to prove he completed the mission.

"Alright then."

Hiruzen tossed the heads back into the stronghold, formed hand seals, and said:

"Earth Release: Earth Flow River!"

The A-rank Ninjutsu instantly buried the entire mountain stronghold beneath the earth.

Watching this scene, Isamu inwardly sighed.

Truly worthy of the future Third Hokage. Using a Ninjutsu of this level so casually…

Hiruzen then hoisted Isamu onto his back.

"Come on, let's go recover at the inn. I heard they have hot springs there. Since we're already out here, we might as well enjoy them."

Carried on his back, Isamu looked at him with disdain.

"And here I thought you were worried about me. Turns out you just want to go peep at the hot springs."

"What peeping? Do I look like that kind of person?" Hiruzen said seriously. "I just genuinely want to soak in the hot springs. Isamu, is that how you see me?"

Someone who didn't know him might actually believe that sincere expression.

But Isamu had already seen through him.

The teacher of the Pervy Sage Jiraiya… truly worthy of the title. Like master, like disciple.

Peeping is peeping, yet he insists it's about bathing. How shameless.

At the inn, Hiruzen booked two rooms.

Back in his room, Isamu took out the last bottle of Water of Life from the system and drank it.

Instantly, all his wounds healed, and his physique improved slightly.

Exhausted from the day's battle, he didn't even bother bathing. He collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep immediately.

The next morning, the refreshed Isamu brushed his teeth, washed his face, and went to Hiruzen's room.

When he pushed the door open, the room was empty.

Without hesitation, he headed straight for the hot springs.

After changing clothes and entering the bath area, he saw Hiruzen standing beside the hot spring pool, peering through a tiny crack in the wall with a lecherous expression—spying on the women's bath on the other side.

I knew it. This old pervert would definitely be here.

Isamu stepped into the hot spring and slowly walked over.

Standing beside him, he said:

"Brother Sarutobi, didn't you say we came here to soak in the hot springs? How did it turn into peeping?"

Startled by the sudden voice, Hiruzen quickly covered Isamu's mouth.

"Shh! Keep your voice down! This isn't peeping—I'm just observing to see if there are any perverts spying on the women. If there are, I can protect them."

"I think the pervert is you," Isamu replied flatly. "Protecting women? Who would believe that?"

Seeing the obvious disbelief on Isamu's face, Hiruzen coughed awkwardly.

"Ahem… Isamu, you'll understand when you reach my age. Do you have someone you like? If you do, tell me. As your captain, I'll take full responsibility for your lifelong happiness!"

"Give it a rest, Brother Sarutobi," Isamu said. "You should worry about yourself. I think you're the one who needs to find a wife quickly, so you'll stop harassing young women every day."

"What harassment? I told you, it's protection. Protection, understand?" Hiruzen insisted with a serious expression.

Isamu looked at him with pure disdain.

Anyone else might have believed that solemn expression.

Unfortunately, Isamu knew him far too well.

The image of the future Hiruzen using a Crystal Ball for the Telescope Technique was simply unforgettable.

Seeing that Isamu still didn't believe him, Hiruzen quickly changed the subject.

"Huh? Your injuries from yesterday are completely gone, and you're already soaking in hot springs. Your recovery speed is impressive."

"They were just superficial wounds," Isamu said casually. "I was just too tired yesterday. I don't have many strengths, but my wounds heal quickly."

Hiruzen didn't doubt him.

Some people simply had excellent physiques, and superficial injuries could indeed heal quickly.

"I originally planned to head back tomorrow," Hiruzen said, "but since you've already recovered, let's return today. I'm starting to miss the village's wo—"

He suddenly coughed.

"—ahem, I mean the village's good food. When we get back, I'll treat you to a big meal!"

Watching Hiruzen almost slip up again, Isamu silently felt sorry for the women of the village.

With such a shameless peeping tom around, their future looked rather unfortunate.
