Chapter 35 - Meeting

In this world, there live many creatures. Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Spirits, Dragons, Undead, beastkins of what not, and…

Demons.

There are kings for humans, there are kings for elves, dwarfs, and all the other ones that exist alongside. Yet, there is a difference. No king of any race comes close to the Demon kings.

They aren't just demons, but beings who represent the Sins. The seven deadly sins.

---

Lilith was sitting at a round table, in a dark eerie room. To be exact, it was too huge to be called a "room" but the modernized Demon queen couldn't really find her words for it.

I can.

It was a grand hall, as huge as a mansion of a medieval king, yet decorated with the mindset of a gothic prince. There were no chandeliers for light, just candles placed here and there, enough for one to see the other.

The hall had no other significant characteristic that would make it very memorable. Except for the round table at the very center of it.

A circular table bedecked with 7 chairs, each representing a sin, that is, reserved for the Demon king of a sin.

Lilith sat on one of them, and to her left sat a woman, much older than herself. She was also rather tall, towering even the seat's back support.

She wore a red three-piece suit, the same people wear to offices, just colourful. A white shirt, red pants and red coat. The woman's face was stern, stunning crimson hair, paired with red eyes. There was also a scar on her right cheeks, and Lilith knew where this woman had gotten it from.

It felt to Lilith as if she had chosen the dress to match her natural features, and that actually intrigued her. Her love for fashion had already engraved that style in her mind,

"I will show this to Marianne."  A silly thought had just appeared in her head before a voice broke out.

A coarse voice rang out, echoing in the hall like a drum of doom.

"Hah! Is this what the Demon King of Pride has come to?"

Lilith turned to the voice, sitting right beside the tall lady, was a man.

He had an annoyed expression, his long golden hair was in such strange curls that it was hard to find a word to describe them, they covered his forehead, but were in fact long enough to cover his entire face. The face that was sculpted to such perfection it felt like a statue rather than a person carried a beautiful pair of differently colored eyes. A longing blue and a fading green, both staring right up at Lucian. But that perfect face, too, had a scar right on its forehead

The man wore an extremely questioning costume. A long violet coat that was had long strip of small little diamonds glued to It, the hand that was placed on the table had all of its fingers covered with rings, along with a long chain of gold curling his entire right forearm like a snake.

When he spoke, his coarse voice which should have been unpleasant, made anyone feel charmed to it.

Maybe that was another ability as the Demon King of Greed.

"I am attending here because of a completely different reason, not to be along with fools like you." Lucian said. The tone of his words was so heavy and authoritative that Lilith couldn't help but clench her fist to resist the urge to bow.

"Now, now." Finally, the red-haired lady called out, already chewing on to something in the middle of her speech, "You don't need to be so harsh to each other, do you? Aren't you forgetting Lilith here is an…" The lady side-eyed Lilith, the crimson eyes that were initially calm, now felt as if they were piercing right into her soul.

"incompl-"

"Enough, Vannesa." Lucian called out, not to save Lilith, but to question her himself.

His violet eyes had no depth at that moment, yet they were not lifeless. Lilith gulped before putting her hand right up in the air.

"It's about the Demon King of Sloth, no? I will tell you everything." She said, just before thinking to herself.

"Guaahhh!! How the hell did these guys found it out this quickly. Moreover, they are making me act like some kind of spy. I am also a Demon Queen, I will let you know you bully bastards."

Although she cursed them non-stop in her mind, there was not a single word she could say out loud that wouldn't cause Lucian to behead her at the moment.

"His name is Magnus, I tried to find his origin but I have been unsuccessful. It's like he seriously spawned out of nowhere and became the Demon Kin-"

"Do you take me for a fool?"

"N-No?! Seriously! I swear!"

"C'mon Lilith, I get you are weak but is that all you amount to? You are making us feel, y'know, disgraceful."

Lilith gulped, but just before she could defend herself, the coarse voice rang out again.

"Lillith you should know that's impossible. Only descendants can become Demon Kings, also the only exception was Wrath, and you know exactly what happened to him." Merlin glanced at the empty chair before staring right at Lucian.

"Don't bring HIM to this conversation."

"Oh? Why shouldn't I? or maybe it's true? That he is still…

Alive."

A shiver went down everyone's body. A chance that HE was alive?

Suddenly, an unfathomable aura erupted out of Lucian's body. The lit candles weren't extinguished, they simply disappeared from existence. Yet the hall shone brighter than ever, the piercing crimson and golden aura that was exploding out of Lucian's body like wings of an Angel and a Demon.

All the rings merlin once wore were reduced to nothing, and if it weren't for Vannesa shielding Lilith, she would have been vaporized alongside.

"That is impossible. And even if it somehow is possible, and he is somewhere out there still alive. I will kill him myself."

---

Marianne, with much effort, finally opened the giant door of the throne room. The first thing she saw was Magnus laying on the floor, sleeping.

She sighed, then went ahead and picked him up. A daily occurrence, you see.

She carefully placed him on the seat and felt herself a bit proud. No matter how many times she had done this, she would still call it a heroic act.

Magnus purred. Marianne turned, confused.

"Did he just… purr? Was brewing from that kettle a bad idea?" She thought to herself, before bringing her ears closer to listen to it again.

Magnus sighed, she pulled back. A bit disappointed.

Suddenly, Magnus gripped his head.

"Its still unstable, huh."

"Uh… Magnus?"

Magnus turned to her. Marianne's heart sank. That, was not Magnus.

His. His. His face.

It was melting.
