Chapter 1 - One Night With the CEO

The rain poured heavily that night, turning the city lights into trembling streaks across the wet asphalt. Lina pulled her coat tighter around her body as she stared at the massive hotel in front of her. The building looked like a modern palace, glowing with golden chandeliers that could be seen even through the glass walls.

She took a deep breath.

She still couldn't believe she was here.

Just hours earlier, she had been sitting in the small hospital waiting room, listening as the doctor explained that her mother's treatment had to continue immediately. His words still echoed in her mind.

Expensive treatment.Urgent.No time to wait.

Lina was only twenty-two. She worked at a small café and barely managed to pay the rent for the tiny apartment she shared with her mother.

But that afternoon everything had gotten worse.

She had been fired.

No money, no job, and a sick mother. Lina felt like the entire world had collapsed on her shoulders.

Then she received a message from an old friend.

A job for tonight.

A luxurious event. An important man needed a companion to maintain appearances in front of investors. Nothing more than that. Just smile, talk, and act like she belonged in that world.

The payment would be enough to cover months of her mother's treatment.

Lina knew she should refuse.

But desperation spoke louder.

And now she was here.

"Just breathe…" she whispered to herself.

She walked through the glass doors of the hotel and immediately felt the weight of the place. Men in expensive suits moved across the lobby while elegant women chatted with glasses of champagne in their hands.

Lina felt completely out of place.

She discreetly adjusted the simple black dress she had rented for the occasion.

Then she saw the staircase.

At the top of it, surrounded by businessmen and assistants, stood a man.

Tall. Elegant. Impeccably dressed in a dark suit.

But what truly caught attention were his eyes.

Cold.

Intense.

Dangerously calm.

Adrian Vale.

Even Lina, who barely followed business news, knew that name.

The most powerful CEO in the city.

A man who had built an empire before turning thirty.

People said he was brilliant.

They also said he was impossible to approach.

Adrian Vale was known for two things: his sharp mind… and his completely unreachable heart.

At that moment, as if sensing her gaze, Adrian lifted his eyes.

Their gazes met.

For one second.

Two.

Three.

Lina's heart began to race.

She couldn't explain why.

But something in that gaze made her feel as if she was being completely examined.

As if he could see all of her secrets.

Then an assistant approached Adrian and whispered something in his ear. The CEO looked away and returned to speaking with the investors.

Lina released a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding.

The night moved strangely fast after that.

She was introduced to a few people, smiled politely, answered questions, and tried not to look completely lost.

At one point, someone asked her to deliver a set of documents to a private room upstairs.

Lina didn't think much before accepting.

Maybe it was just another small task.

But when she opened the door to the room…

She froze.

Adrian Vale was inside.

Alone.

He stood near the window, watching the rain-covered city below.

When he heard the door open, he slowly turned his head.

His dark eyes met hers again.

"You're not one of the usual guests," he said, his voice low and steady.

Lina felt her hands grow sweaty.

"I… I was just asked to deliver these," she replied, lifting the documents slightly.

Adrian walked toward her.

Every step he took seemed perfectly controlled.

When he stopped in front of her, Lina realized something unsettling.

Up close, he was even more intimidating.

But there was something else in his gaze.

Curiosity.

Adrian took the documents but didn't look away from her.

"What's your name?"

"Lina."

"Lina…" he repeated slowly, as if testing the sound of it.

The silence between them became strange.

Heavy.

Then Adrian spoke again.

"You don't belong here."

The words caught Lina off guard.

"I know."

Adrian studied her face for a few seconds.

"Then why are you here?"

Lina hesitated.

She couldn't tell the truth.

But she couldn't lie either.

"Because I needed to be."

Something changed in his eyes at that moment.

A different spark.

Almost… interest.

The rain continued tapping against the hotel windows while the city slept outside.

And in that silent room, two lives were about to cross in a way neither of them could have predicted.

What happened next moved too fast.

Words mixed with silence.

An agreement neither of them had planned.

One night that never should have existed.

When Lina woke the next morning, the first thing she saw was sunlight slipping through the curtains.

The second was the empty space beside her.

Adrian was already gone.

On the table, there was only an envelope.

Inside it was enough money to change her life for months.

But there was no message.

No number.

Nothing.

As if that night had never happened.

Months passed.

Lina returned to her simple routine.

She worked two jobs to pay for her mother's treatment.

She tried to forget that night completely.

Tried to convince herself it had only been a mistake.

Just a strange moment in her life.

Until that morning.

Lina stood in the small bathroom of her apartment.

Her hands were trembling.

The pregnancy test rested on the sink.

She had bought it only to silence the absurd doubt that had been growing in her mind over the past few weeks.

This couldn't be real.

She took a deep breath and slowly turned the test.

Two red lines.

The world seemed to stop.

"No…" she whispered.

Her heart pounded painfully in her chest.

"This can't be happening…"

Pregnant.

She was pregnant.

And there was only one man who could be the father.

Adrian Vale.

At that exact moment, the sound of a car stopping in front of the house caught her attention.

Lina looked out the window.

A black limousine was parked outside the small gate.

A man in a suit stepped out of the vehicle.

He walked to the door and knocked.

Lina opened it slowly.

The man gave a slight respectful bow.

"Miss Lina?"

She nodded, confused.

Then he said the words that made her heart freeze.

"Mr. Adrian Vale has sent me to bring you."

The pregnancy test was still in her hand.

And suddenly Lina realized something terrifying.

He knew
