Chapter 104 - chapter 33:1: Prestige and Poison

The Averis teacher immediately stepped forward, her heels clicking aggressively against the polished floor.

She crossed her arms, trying to build a defensive wall. "It seems this problem is entirely Crownside's fault! For all we know, the trap was meant to sabotage our girls, and your pathetic security allowed it to happen!"

Ava let out a soft, delighted giggle. It was a sweet, musical sound that belonged to a cute, innocent child—but the sheer lack of warmth behind it made the room freeze.

She stopped messing with her drawstring and slowly swung her legs off the edge of the bed. She didn't look injured at all.

She looked thrilled. Her hazel-blue, siren-shaped eyes, which usually sparkled like bright stars, narrowed into two deep, predatory slits as she locked eyes with the teacher.

"I already have my assistant looking into this," Ava purred, her voice dripping with a lazy, intoxicating malice.

She tilted her head, her thin strands of red hair framing a face that was suddenly blooming with pure, unadulterated mischief. "Whoever rigged that cabinet... they better hope their families have a hundred heads to spare. Because I'm going to personally watch them roll."

The two Averis officials took a heavy step back, their spines hitting the translucent amber table.

The air in the room felt heavy, suffocating.

Before they could even stammer a reply, Ava's personal assistant stepped inside, sliding a transparent tablet into her bandaged hand.

Ava didn't even look down at it. She casually tossed it onto the cashmere sofa behind her, letting it slide right toward the officials.

On the screen, a massive, unencrypted data trail was laid bare: Jennie's direct bank transfers to a technician to rig the cabinet, paired with the Averis teachers encrypted group chat logs detailing exactly how they wanted to humiliate Crownside at the post-competition reception party.

"Give it all to the media," Ava drawled, leaning back against the bed's frame and stretching her arms over her head like a lazy predator enjoying a sunbath.

"Don't the Averis people live for fame and public relations? Let's give them exactly what they want to hear. Then, hack into every student database in that school, pull out their parents' dirtiest secrets, and blast it online. I want to see if that school can even keep its doors unlocked by tomorrow morning." Ava said as she free her hair from the bun hairstyle.

"Wait! Let us talk this out!" one of the officials yelled, his face turning an ugly shade of red as he stepped toward the bed. "That is completely reckless! Do you even know the scale of the backlash? If you do this, you are actively declaring war against the entire nation of Averis!"

Ava burst into a full-blown, chaotic laugh.

She leaned forward, her elbows resting on her knees, her eyes dancing with absolute, unhinged amusement at the sight of them panicking.

This was her favorite kind of entertainment. Seeing them scramble and lose their minds was pure delight.

"A common, low-tier official is standing in my clinic suite threatening me?" Ava chuckled, her voice bubbling with mockery.

"Oh, you guys are so adorable. Let's see how we can start, then."She turned her head slightly to her assistant, her tone dropping the cute act instantly, shifting into a cold, military-like precision.

"All the massive business industries my grandmother owns in Averis... those are mine, right? Stop all operations immediately. Lock the doors. Cut off all the Quinn family business sectors I handle there too everything, the legal and the non-legal branches. Tell the underground organizations under our flag to start tearing up their commercial districts. And those Averis politicians and military generals we are currently funding? Pull every single cent of our support out. If they call you crying, tell them these two common trash bags dared me."

"Are you threatening us, girl?!" the second official roared, his voice echoing off the lacquer panels.

He lunged forward, pointing a shaking finger at her face. "You are just an eighteen-year-old child! You think you can do what you like, when you like, without any rules?!"

The assistant didn't even blink. He simply stepped back, raised his hands, and delivered two sharp, ringing claps.

The heavy clinic door flew open instantly. Four massive, silent Quinn bodyguards stepped into the room.

Before the officials could even twist around, the guards grabbed them by their expensive, tailored collars, lifting them nearly off their feet.

They didn't just escort them down the hall—they dragged them violently out of the VIP wing, their leather shoes scuffing uselessly against the floorboards as they were hurled directly out of the school gates like garbage.

Ava watched them go, a small, thoroughly pleased smile returning to her lips as she leaned back onto her silk sheets.

The Head of Student Affairs let out a dry, nervous cough, adjusting his collar. "I would take my leave then, and let you handle this," he murmured quickly, practically backing out of the room before the door slid shut behind him.

It didn't even take half an hour.Standing stranded just past the perimeter, the two thrown-out Averis officials felt their phones explode with a relentless barrage of incoming calls.

The screens flashed with the names of high-up leaders, powerful ministers, and dominant family heads.

Voices cracked over the lines, roaring in pure panic—their future careers weren't just in jeopardy, they were completely obliterated.

Desperate to undo the damage, the two men scrambled back toward the entrance of Crownside High, but the massive, reinforced steel security gates remained tightly locked against them.

The armored elite guards stood like brick walls, guns slung casually over their chests, refusing to even look at them.

No matter how many times the officials frantically dialled the numbers of the Crownside faculty or the school's administrators, nobody answered. The lines were completely dead.

In just two short hours, the sheer weight of the impending disaster aged them decades.

They stood huddled together outside the grand security gates, their pristine, tailored suits now rumpled, looking nothing like the powerful, high-ranking dignitaries they had been when they walked in.

Their phones buzzed relentlessly in their palms, heavy with text messages and calls threatening to ruin their entire bloodlines.

Suddenly, a heavy, mechanical rhythmic thumping sliced through the air.

High above the skyline, a sleek, military-grade luxury helicopter emerged from the clouds, slicing down toward the custom-reinforced helipad arranged on the school grounds.Five minutes passed.

The heavy iron side gates of the academy rolled open.A sharp-featured man stepped into the open air, trailing ten heavily armed, black-uniformed soldiers who marched in precise, terrifying formation.

He walked straight up to the two trembling officials. Without warning, he raised his hand and delivered two blistering, echoing slaps across their faces, knocking them hard against the concrete.

The officials didn't dare move. They didn't dare defend themselves.

The man standing over them was the absolute Vice President of the capital country in Averis—the very man who had just flown in on that helicopter to save his own neck.

"Useless bastards!" the Vice President roared, his chest heaving with fury. "You have turned the country into your personal playground! In just two hours, half of our entire nation's commercial sector has fallen into absolute chaos!"

"We... we didn't know she is just a child," one of the officials sobbed, clutching his bleeding cheek as he cowered on the floor.

"Just a child?!" the Vice President exploded, his voice turning into an unbridled roar. "She is a Quinn! Not only that, she is the direct daughter of Nathan Quinn and Emily Hayes! The entire Hayes family moves at Ava's command. Her brother, Luis Quinn, handles global politicians around the world at his young age—that one alone is an absolute, untouchable madman! None of that bloodline is sane! And Ava has completely inherited all her grandmother's business assets. The Old Madam Quinn runs the single biggest underground organization on Earth, and Ava is the new owner. Alongside her own empires! They are children born of money—do you think they would be weak, you absolute fools? Why do you think they are part of the untouchable Top Twenty? Why do you think the Top Twenty are given such massive, terrifying respect? Get your asses back to Averis right now. Your families and you are so dead!"

He roared one final curse before turning on his heel, marching back through the iron gates with his men.

Only two heavily armed soldiers remained behind, ruthlessly grabbing the two sobbing officials by their arms and dragging them toward the waiting transport vehicles.

Meanwhile, inside the private visitor hall of Crownside High—a sprawling, glass-walled space meant strictly for high-tier guests—the atmosphere was suffocatingly tense.

The ten elite student representatives from the top all-girls school in Averis were huddled together in a quiet corner, their wealthy parents whispering frantically among themselves.

Near the far end of the room, the Averis music teacher stood with a green face, explaining the terrifying scale of the media leak to Jennie, who had gone completely pale, her manicured fingers trembling.

"I'm not the one who did that! I am being framed!" Jennie cried out, hot tears finally spilling from her eyes.

She slammed her hands down onto her face, covering her features. "I will call senior brother. I'm getting bullied here!"

The music teacher's face turned an even viler shade of green at her words.

A sudden, deep irritation flared in his chest—was this bitch seriously using her backing to indirectly threaten him right now?Bitch, the teacher thought, fixing her with a cold, resentful glare.

Everyone in their inner circle knew the truth about her so-called "senior brother." He wasn't her sibling at all. He was the ruthless patriarch of one of Averis's oldest, most formidable Top Grey families, holding massive generational ties and deep-rooted political connections across the Union.

That hidden relationship was the sole reason Jennie—a natural Aurelion citizen from Elysia—had miraculously managed to secure full Averis citizenship.

It was how she had bypassed the strict border codes to attend the all-girls school, an institution ranked in the top ten worldwide that normally only accepted pure representatives of the nation.

But at the end of the day, despite her constantly bragging to people that her family and his were just "close lifelong friends," she was nothing more than a cheap, glorified mistress at her age.

Jennie wept bitterly into her hands, completely unaware that the Top Grey connections she relied on were currently turning to ash under the weight of Ava's catastrophic lockdown.

The door flew open with a violent crash as the Averis Vice President entered the grand visitor hall, his ten armed soldiers filing in right behind him.

Everyone in the room immediately stood up, the wealthy parents and elite students completely freezing as the Vice President ruthlessly threw a digital tablet onto the central dark-wood table.

"Take a look at what you guys did in a global competition!" he roared, his voice trembling with an explosive, high-level fury.

Blazing across the glowing screen were the concrete files: the unedited footage of Jennie's paid sabotage, the encrypted chat logs of the teachers plotting to humiliate Crownside, and the humiliating slow-motion recording of the two Averis contestants faking a broken wrist during the instrumental round.

"This girls' school is ranked in the top six globally, yet look at how disgraceful they are!" the Vice President screamed, pacing the floor like a caged animal.

"After all this, you guys still managed to lose in another person's homeland! As if that isn't enough, the fucking evidence is sitting directly in your competition's hands! You have brought absolute disgrace to our country! We are the top capital country out of the remaining seventeen nations in Averis, yet we are currently a global laughingstock!"

He slammed his fist against the back of an upholstered chair, his eyes bloodshot."Do you know what the media is after right now? The sabotage! Who did it—that is the only thing they want to know! And if this evidence goes public, the entire eighteen-country alliance of Averis will be dragged through the mud and permanently disgraced because of you dumb idiots! All of you!"He whipped his head around, pointing a shaking finger at the corner of the room.

"You, and those two stupid contestants who faked their injuries in the instrument competition—both of you are going to give a public apology right now. And you better make it sound sincere! Go back to the main hall, let all the press, journalists, and news anchors point their video cameras at you, and you better apologize and fix this mess! As for Jennie and these so-called teachers... take your sorry asses and follow me right now!"

With a final, deafening yell, he turned on his heel and stormed out of the hall.Jennie's face had gone completely white, her expensive nails digging so hard into her skin that she nearly drew blood.

She bit her lip until it turned raw, a consuming, dark hatred burning in her chest.

It is always Ava, Jennie thought, her mind twisting with rage. Ava's fault. It was because of Ava that she had been forced to leave Elysia in the first place, and now the psychopath was relentlessly coming after her here.

So what if she had cheated? Yes, she had hired people to sabotage the with Ava's piano performance so she would fail miserably on a live broadcast. She had designed it perfectly so it would look like an ordinary, unprovoked accident no matter how the school administrators investigated it. Yet it hadn't even happened—Ava had won the round anyway.

Instead, someone else had planted that transparent, razor-sharp glass blade inside the cabinet to genuinely maim Ava's hand, using Jennie's existing setup as a perfect punching bag.

Whoever the real culprit was, they knew exactly what Jennie had planned, and they deliberately used her as a human shield so the entire world would think she was the mastermind who tried to ruin the Quinn family's golden daughter.

Fucking dammit!Taking a long, ragged breath to force her expression back into a calm mask, Jennie swallowed her fury and followed the trembling music teacher and the Vice President out of the room.

They left the private visitor hall, crossing the manicured courtyard toward the Crownside School Clinic.

Calling it a clinic was an understatement; it was a massive, architectural masterpiece in its own right, soaring six stories high into the sky like a state-of-the-art VIP hospital wing. The exterior was a stunning fusion of timeless white marble columns and sleek panels of smart, soundproofed glass that glowed with a faint, faint gold hue under the afternoon sun.

The grand entrance featured an automated biometric archway that opened smoothly onto a high-ceilinged atrium lined with indoor water walls and lush, air-purifying greenery.

The floors were polished white quartz, reflecting the recessed lighting above.

The upper levels were divided into private recovery suites, hyper-advanced diagnostic labs, and restricted surgery theaters, entirely staffed by world-class specialists and silent, hyper-realistic medical robots moving effortlessly through the corridors.

The air carried absolutely no harsh chemical or sterile hospital scent—only the crisp, calming aroma of premium white tea.
