Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Silver-Haired Vampire Heiress

"Lin Mo, are you free after school?"

At the gates of Karim University, Lin Mo had just stepped out when a beautiful girl stopped him. One glance at her pretty face was enough for him to recognize her—Lu Jiajia, the most popular girl from the class next door.

"Sorry, I'm busy." Lin Mo replied indifferently and walked past her without slowing down.

"Lin—"

Watching his retreating figure, Lu Jiajia didn't react with anger or embarrassment after being rejected. She simply sighed, already used to it. Even though she was the campus beauty of her class, this was already the ninety-eighth time she had asked him out and been turned down.

The reason was simple.

He was the campus heartthrob—the most handsome male student in all of Karim University.

"Lin Mo, the campus heartthrob of Karim, and he's human too. Anyone who managed to get a boyfriend like him would be the happiest person alive!" A blonde woman walked over and draped an arm around Lu Jiajia's shoulder.

"I've been pursuing him for two years, but he's never even really looked at me. Am I just not good enough?" Lu Jiajia said quietly.

"It's not that you're not good enough. It's that he's too exceptional. As a human male, he's incredibly handsome, his grades are outstanding, and he carries the title of Karim University's most desirable man. Someone like him isn't within reach for ordinary people like us. Only vampire nobility would truly have a chance."

"But he's still single," Lu Jiajia said anxiously. "No girlfriend. Not even a master."

"Just because he doesn't have one now doesn't mean he won't in the future. Men like him are extremely popular among the noble families. Their blood is like the poison of a mandrake flower—once you taste it, you can't live without it. Honestly… I really want to try it."

As she spoke, the blonde woman licked her lips, a faint red glow flickering in her eyes.

After the Third World War, a new race appeared on Blue Star—the vampires.

They possessed immense strength and a variety of supernatural abilities: flight, incredible physical power, x-ray vision, mental domination, and more.

Vampires evolved from humans. Because female genes adapted to the mutation more easily, the vast majority of vampires were women, while male vampires were extremely rare. At the same time, human male populations had also sharply declined because of the war.

As a result, the status of women rose dramatically, and society gradually entered an era dominated by women.

During the chaos of the war, infected vampires spread across the world at an alarming rate, triggering a massive conflict between humans and vampires.

After the war ended, the two sides signed a ceasefire agreement and established terms for peaceful coexistence. Vampires were forbidden from attacking humans at will, or they would be exiled from the cities. In exchange, humans were required to donate blood every month in a regulated system.

Within this environment, a new type of relationship soon emerged—the concept of a companion.

Not long after peace was established, some humans and vampires began falling in love. Because the two races refused to recognize such relationships officially, these human partners became known as companions.

As these relationships became more common, the Federal Republic introduced a series of laws. One of them stated that a vampire could have only a single companion.

From that point on, romantic relationships between humans and vampires officially became part of society.

After leaving school, Lin Mo walked alone along the street. Wherever he passed, both human and vampire women turned to look.

"That scent… it smells delicious. His blood must taste even better," one vampire woman murmured while staring at his back.

"Forget it. Human men like him are under special protection by the Federal Police. If ordinary vampires like us touch them carelessly, we'll face severe punishment—maybe even exile from the city. Think about it. Outside the city walls are those feral bloodfiends. Those things don't care whether you're human or vampire—they'll tear into anyone."

At the mention of bloodfiends, the vampire woman shuddered and quickly shook her head.

"Then forget it. I'd rather die than end up outside the city."

Lin Mo eventually arrived at a bus stop. When the bus came and everyone else boarded, he remained where he was.

After the bus drove away, a luxury car pulled up in front of him. The window rolled down, revealing a blonde woman in a tailored work suit sitting inside.

"Get in. Miss sent me to pick you up."

"Alright."

Lin Mo responded quietly and opened the door before getting into the car.

The vehicle drove for a long time before finally entering a vast, luxurious estate. After getting out, Lin Mo followed the blonde maid through the villa.

The moment he stepped inside, a familiar fragrance drifted through the air.

On the sofa sat an extraordinarily beautiful silver-haired woman. She had one leg crossed over the other, her black silk stockings accentuating the elegant curve of her legs. A cup of coffee rested in her hand, and her crimson eyes—bright like rubies—were fixed on Lin Mo.

"You're here. Take him to wash up," she said calmly.

"Yes, Miss."

Led by the blonde maid, Lin Mo entered the bathroom and calmly removed his clothes, washing himself with practiced familiarity.

When he finished and stepped out, his previous clothes were gone. In their place were fresh garments and a set of sleepwear.

After putting on the pajamas, he walked out of the bathroom. The blonde maid was already waiting at the door.

"Miss is in her room now. Please follow me."

She led him to the bedroom door before turning and leaving.

Lin Mo stood there alone for a few seconds. After a brief hesitation, he pushed the door open. A wave of sweet fragrance greeted him immediately.

The room was large.

The bed was even larger.

Rose petals were scattered across the expensive mattress, and the silver-haired woman now sat on it wearing black silk sleepwear, calmly reading a book.

When she saw him enter, she closed the book and placed it on the table. Then she beckoned to him with a slender finger, her voice cool and pleasant.

"Come here."

Lin Mo shut the door and walked toward the bed. His gaze remained calm as he looked at the stunning woman before him, without a trace of desire.

"Come up. Sit on my lap," she said, patting her thigh.

Lin Mo obediently climbed onto the bed and sat across her smooth, toned legs, meeting her gaze.

"So handsome," she murmured while gently touching his face. "It's been a year already, and I still can't get tired of looking at you. Truly irresistible."

"If you're going to drink, just do it. Stop talking," Lin Mo said coldly.

"Oh? In such a hurry?" she teased. "I was planning to chat with you a little first. But if you insist, then I won't hold back."

As she spoke, she licked her lips, revealing the sharp fangs of a vampire before leaning down and biting into his neck.

"Mmh…"

Lin Mo groaned softly from the pain, his cheeks soon flushing red.

When vampires drink blood, they release a chemical that dulls pain and stirs powerful emotions in their prey. Instead of resisting, the victim gradually begins to crave the sensation.

Of course, the strength of that influence depends on the vampire's bloodline. Only powerful vampires possess truly overwhelming charm.

And the one feeding on Lin Mo right now was precisely that kind of vampire.

She was one of the highest nobles among vampire society—

Christine Airova.
