Kael fell to the ground, his body shaking violently.
The red light from the ancient medallion spread through his veins like fire.
"Ahhh!" he screamed as pain shot through his entire body.
It felt as if every bone inside him was breaking and rebuilding at the same time.
Images suddenly flashed in his mind.
Massive armies clashing on endless battlefields.
Cities burning.
A powerful warrior standing above thousands of soldiers, holding a giant spear while enemies trembled before him.
The War God.
Kael gasped for breath as the vision faded.
The ancient voice spoke again inside his mind.
"You are now the bearer of my legacy."
Kael slowly pushed himself up from the ground.
His body felt… different.
Stronger.
Faster.
More powerful than before.
He clenched his fist and felt an incredible strength flowing through him.
"What… did you do to me?" Kael asked.
The voice replied calmly.
"I have given you the power to conquer the battlefield. But power alone is not enough."
Suddenly, a strange glowing screen appeared in front of Kael.

"Hey! There's a survivor here!"
Three enemy warriors began walking toward him with their swords ready.
Normally, Kael would have been terrified.
But this time…
Something inside him felt calm.
Cold.
Ready for battle.
Kael slowly picked up his sword.
His eyes glowed faintly red.
"If this is the War God's power…" he said quietly.
"Then let's see what it can do."
The next battle had begun.
